I do that all the time but that's only cause I want people to learn from their own mistake rather than blaming me later on for their mistake. You shouldn't really bother about what other people say because they will always have something to say but most important part is they don't really give a **** cause they have their own life to worry about. You'll hear a guy give you nice comment but next thing you know he gets busy in sorting his own life. I think people overthink stuff like "oh, what that guy is thinking about me", "Did he really mean I was an ******* when he said it" etc.
If you look at me..I might give a **** about something for a minute or two but then I move on with my life. 90% people are this way in this world. You just gotta do your thing and let people do their thing. As long as you know what you want from life that's all should matter.

In some cases, yes.
However, we can see the true nature of many teachers; some teachers will begin to get jelly if you exceed them in a particular activity. If they do not get jelly, its because your success is directly linked with their own benefit or prestige (elite level sports for example). Another thing to think about is, that if the student does not thank the teacher or attribute their success to the teacher; the teacher will deep down most likely not want the student to succeed and despise the student. When the student stops feeding the teacher's ego or disagrees with the teacher's advice, sh*t gets real.Never been hugged crew

the reason why you think like this is because you think like this. not everyone else.

Sorry OP I'd have to disagree, personally for me I want people to succeed.
I find that building an environment of successful people around you not only motivates myself to succeed but minimises failure on both ends.
I do see your perspective on how you want others that are not close to you to succeed making you satisfy your own ego. I think it's human nature to have these thoughts but it isn't as black and white, others may do it more or less than others.
What I'm getting at is that your attitude of indefinite desire for others to fail doesn't mirror the rest of the people in the world.

You only assume I think it is black and white. I know its a grey area and there are varying degrees of it in everyone.
Also, you want an environment of successful people only because it directly benefits and motivates you. Heck, even people close to you, you don't really want to succeed deep down.
Everyone here is so quick to defend themselves and say "I'm not like that". its lulzy. if you don't admit there is a part of you that is like this, you are a fawking liar.Never been hugged crew

Assumption was purely made on the few responses from you that I read.
I don't understand how you can structure my thoughts of "I want people to succeed, which also aids my successfulness " with "deep down I don't want them too". It's two conflicting thought patterns.
Why would I want them to not succeed damaging my opportunities of successfulness?

No I think you're still wrong.
When I see somebody who has something that I want that I don't have, I usually get depressed, not angry or jealous. I see it as a personal shortcoming rather than something to be jealous of. If somebody has something I don't have, their failure won't let me have it. Only though my own hard work - or whatever action needs to be taken - can I get what I want. I'm saying this in VERY broad terms. I do want people not to succeed when their success could harm my chances of success, for example some guy getting a position instead of me when we're both applying for the position.
Also, for a guy my age, I'm a pretty damned successful, at least in terms of "rat race" success. I rarely run into somebody who's level of success is something that I would trade my own for.Misc Med Crew

true, sadly

It's just how the world is. It's hard to find REAL friends let alone REAL people. The funny thing is nearly everyone themselves thinks they are sincere and have good morality, but give them a situation that can test their judgement without consequences and their true colors will show.
Like all these little high schoolers calling each other "fam".. see when youre in deep sh*t how many of your "fam" will come help you..

It's because they have no hope's and dreams, or they do but have such low self esteem they don't even try to accomplish their goals. They're jealous when they see you going after yours.
Take actors as an example. Once they get famous, people sh!t on them any chance they get to try and bring them down. Most of the gossip in the tabloids comes from people they know or knew at one point. Pretty lame.
