It looks like you kind of just counter built yourself. You were high in gas most of the time so I would have went mass roach with a fair amount mutalisks, since he was mostly producing marines with only a few marauders. Building the corruptors lings and broodlords for that last group of units was what screwed you imo... Bainlings would have helped too, but were unnecessary because you had such a huge lead. When you have a large economic lead on your opponent as zerg 200/200 roaches with some support units beat almost anything.

Funny cause 50% of the games I lose is to stuff like this. I have a huge lead, except all the engagements go horribly wrong for me. Not sure if unit comp or micro.

if a toss 1 bases, he is either going to all in u, or is just retarded. collusus off 1 base is bad and slow. storm off 1 base wont work either, but stargate 1 base can work.

haha damn son thats legit spot on. reps on recharge. ive been sorta cheesing in my pvz matchups with a very fast 1 gate proxy stargate with turtle at base and trying to deny scouting as much as possible. works wonders still so far, top silver, facing up to plats.

was wondering if a zerg would be able to accurately read my play if I denied scouting as much as possible. i guess any decent zerg should be. i believe a 1 base turtle for dts could also be plausible?

dont get me wrong, 1 base all ins work. i do a robo 1 base all in have a strong win rate with it. keep doing it, as it will improve ur micro and even macro as u can expand off it etc.

Dt rush can work. ive seen it a pro level, but it depends on how u read the game, and see if they won't have overseer on time etc

Blizzard uses their on Punkbuster called Warden. Only thing is they don't do constant bans, they do them in huge waves. I've been playing for almost a year and there was maybe only 1 time when I had a feeling the guy was maphacking. Other than that it's usually coincidence, I don't think maphacking is as common as you guys make it out to be. Or maybe because all the maphackers are in the diamond+ leagues. Best way to tell is to watch the replay. If you see them constantly just looking over to directly where you are then maybe that's a sign.

dzj, these maphacks have "Camera lock" they lock their camera in place while they look at your army. You won't be able to see where they look when you check the replay.

even though im still noobing a 4gate, had a soniamproud micro moment today. pvt, terran scouted my 4gate opening and was sending his scv to every nook near and outside his base/natural. he caught me twice trying to lay my proxy down but was able to cancel but it was pissing me off and i thought i was gonna fail. but i let him get close and chase me while i sent another probe from base in another direction and laid my proxy still in good timing with warpgate research. worked to successsss . he didn't see it coming aha gg.

at first i thought the ultimate goal of this game was all about perfecting scouting and knowing how to quickly react and counter, but micro in battle and out of battle and macro make huge differences in games as well.

I'll tell you, Toss micro is what makes or breaks the game for them. Protoss will have fewer stronger units, and you have to make sure you keep them alive. It is KEY for being a good Toss player. I used to play Toss a lot, and I now play Zerg. To say the least, it has helped my roach micro tremendously. I learned to make every unit count, while I am pop capped in a lot of games. Unfortunately, it leads me to having waaaay too many unspent resources...

yeah man micro can turn an autoattack battle that leaves u with 2/4 units to 4/4 units with only damaged shields. so nifty. i found it a bit hard micro-ing lots without speeds though vs kiting terran m/m or stalkers. any tips or pretty unavoidable due to range vs melee.

You really did have that one. The thing that made you lose was your unit composition at the end and your macro. When you go Broodlords + Corruptors + Infestors, you need either roaches, lings or banes to buffer the damage. You didn't have anything to buffer or soak the damage while the broods and infestors do the damage. Your infestors weren't able to do anything because his medivacs were able to heal his bio and no buffer means he's able to take his marines and just kill your broods.

When you get on hive tech, you need to basically start throwing down hatches everywhere for extra gas (not for minerals). Late game Zerg requires a ton of gas, so that's the reasoning behind that. Often you'll bank a ton of minerals, but won't have enough gas to spend the minerals and the extra bases will help you get more gas.

But overall your late game macro wasn't great. You were banking tons of gas and minerals. You really need to spend it all and remember to inject.

If it wasn't for your army composition and macro (your opponent was way worse at macroing than you), then you did a lot of things right, such as overlord spread, upgrades, tech, and taking gases at the right time. Other things I thought you could have improved on were:

- When you have the overlord at his natural, you want to be able to see his gas. This goes for ZvP too. If he's taking early gases, then it would indicate his tech route such as banshees, double eng bay or if it's toss, air.
- Good job sacking the overlord to see what he was going
- You made too many overlords at 60 supply. You were 60/100 or something. All the money spent on extra overlords could have either been spent on drones or something more useful.
- Your baneling nest was late. In ZvT, you want to have a relatively early baneling nest to counter any bio or trap hellions. Also, there are extremely useful when you have something like a marine, scv all in. You also didn't use banelings at all. Late game ZvT and no tanks is imo a big mistake for most players.... you should be rocking his bio with infestors, lings and banes. You don't see many Terrans in Platinum splitting like Marinekingprime.

It's interesting to see how he's handling the metagame. As a Protoss, I'd like to see Blizzard make some changes to the race in HoTS. I'd like to see more back-and-forth incremental battles, like we see in TvZ (lings, marines, tanks, etc. get replenished a lot in that match up) and less of the matches coming down to one big engagement.

I think there'll be some interesting things happening in ZvT now. The queen range is insane. I saw jEcho vs. oGsForGG yesterday and hellions can barely deny creep spread now.
