Hanging Heavy Bag in Garage w/ Pics

So I've had my heavy bag hanging from an eye bolt drilled into my power rack for the past few years, but I'm sick of not being able to move around the bag and work on my footwork/angles. I'd like to hang it from my finished garage ceiling. I've read a lot about it, but I wanted to get your opinions. MY NUMBER 1 PRIORITY IS NOT DESTROYING MY CEILING AND MAKING MY WIFE PISSED!

I have read a lot about people adding additional boards to distribute the shock, but my attic is floored in and I don't have access to the individual rafters. I will definitely be attaching a heavy, industrial spring in between the hook and the chains from the bag to help absorb the shock. I'm not sure if I need to add any additional support in my attic. As you can see, there is a pretty solid chunk of wood that I think I could just screw into directly. I'm thinking about just getting the longest eye hook I can and drilling right into it.

Based on the pictures, do any of you have any advice about the best way to go about this with ceiling and house safety as the main priority? Thanks in advance!

Any carpenters out there? Or just someone who's pretty handy? The extent of my carpentry expertise is watching Bob the Builder with my daughter.
