Not sure if this is the correct forum for this question...wondering if there is any link between intense lactic acid training and the risk of rhabdomyolisis ("rhabdo")...i've seen stories about cross fit athletes being affected but nothing specific on this training program...any insight would be appreciated
thanks

I'm no doc, but it's my understanding that lactic acid levels in the blood can be an indicator of rhabdomyolisis. It's brought on by a number of causes, but primarily extreme physical exertion coupled with dehyrdation.
The only other thing I know about it for sure is that it's a condition to be avoided at all costs, since it can lead to kidney failure. No brain, no gain.
