Negative metabolic effects of alcohol (pertinent to building muscle/losing fat):
1. Dehydration
2. Metabolizing alcohol requires a lot of:
a. B-vitamins
b. Magnesium
c. Calcium
d. Zinc
and the body will use these available resources for metabolizing the alcohol before building muscle
3. Increased cortisol levels
4. Interrupts sleep cycle and thus GH release
5. Decreased testosterone
Those are in no particular order of importance and are in no way comprehensive.

I was serious everytime. Even the clenching thread, I had read that in an actual workout book and hoped to get confirmation here.
And to XAD0, I didn't come to this forum to be liked. I came here to help reach my goal. I'm not trying to be a troll, and I could care less if that's what people think.
If I had advice to give, I'd be more than happy to share. I'm a noobie. I have none to give. But this it's also what I'm just asking of you guys. Every thread I've created was made out of the need of motivation or support.

Here, I'll help you on your way with some excellent nuggets of knowledge:
1) Motivation forum
2) Your threads that I posted seemed ridiculous.;as if fueled by a complete and utter lack of common sense. I apologize for not taking them seriously, I did not know they were meant to be anything other than a farce.
3) #1 is the primary reason for this image. You might find info in the others, though.

It is a double negative word. SMH @ it become a word to lower the bar for every idiot out there. I like this definition of it on dictionary.com:
irregardless
an erroneous word that, etymologically, means the exact opposite of what it is used to express, attested in non-standard writing from at least 1870s (e.g. "Portsmouth Times," Portsmouth, Ohio, U.S.A., April 11, 1874: "We supported the six successful candidates for Council in the face of a strong opposition.-

I really wish people would drop this name. Read this: it devolves conversations into unresolvable heresay exchanges.
I could care less if that's what people think.
2: I see this ALL the time, I hate it so much. For some reason it seems more common with words that end in vowels. Like "pizza's" or whatever.
5: Don't forget yore.
6. Don't forget thar.
8: Not sure about this, for example wiktionary has both uses for both words under English: affect (noun), affect (verb), effect (noun), effect (verb). Though there are plenty of instances when people misuse the words.
9. While I'm aware, this has to be a more forgivable mistake seeing as how the distinction as to which use deserves the apostrophe appears to be completely arbitrary. Would it cause that much confusion if we allowed it in both cases? Now we just have confusion with plural 'it' (or would that be 'them'?). I don't see why we can't just get a special possessive, much like he->his and her->her. Typing that, I realize again why English is gay.
I don't think it's useful to criticize it unless we provide a synonymous substitute. Which um... I guess would be "with regard to" or something like that? "Regardless" is 'without regard to' or something right? Is 'irregard' even a word?Last edited by Tyciol; 02-07-2012 at 10:43 AM.
