    I just want to see what my misc thinks. I just recently healed from a shoulder injury and have been touching my chest on every rep.

    It doesn't count as a proper bench press unless you touch your chest. That's not to say you have to though. If you feel that you can only lift a 3/4 ROM without aggravating your shoulder then do that. Just don't say you can bench x weight when its not full ROM.

    I personally touch my chest, I DO NOT BOUNCE IT OFF MY STERNUM, otherwise, about .5inch-inch before your chest is also fine imo, because some people are afraid of hurting their sternum.

    I personally touch my chest, I DO NOT BOUNCE IT OFF MY STERNUM, otherwise, about .5inch-inch before your chest is also fine imo, because some people are afraid of hurting their sternum.

    I don't touch my chest. I have been doing it this way ever since I injured my shoulder a while back. Plus, being 6'4" I have a massive wingspan so my ROM would be hyoooge...and as you can tell from my avi, my chest DOES respond well to this. I can rep 225 like this
