EVO/DSM/STi/AWD crew?

Subaru guy but LOVE the Evos.
cant post pics since i just joined

had an 04 FXT lesbowagon (5spd, JBP: unicorn) totalled that
now have an 04 JBP WRX, currently for sale
looking to get into another lesbowagon and slam the **** out of it, call it a day

If you buy a WRX over an STi for the gas mileage you are doing it wrong. STi>WRX in allll ways.. also, loose steering? No.. something must be broken brah.

This, I think if anything it's like 1-2 mpg on average better...still though STi if money isn't an issue, I still want an 07

edit: mirin SE^^^ they don't come stock with bilstein's do they? if so sell them to me plz lol

I don't think so bro. Bought brand new 2011 in December of 2010 and it was like that from day 1??? IDK. I guess I'm just used to something else.

It all depends.
Subarus have terrible maps in the ECU from factory. Get a protune and you'll see great results no matter if its a WRX or an STi.

I average 25-27 in the warmer weather and some of my buddies with an STi average around near me

Yea I've read this. Not a bad idea, I should find a worthy shop first.

yea, the price is a lot more.

the only thing that bugs me about the WRX is the 5sp tranny

+1 for lezwagons, finding my 5spd 06 was a pain in the ass.

This stock Subaru maps blow, even stage1 maps on stock cars make such a huge difference in power/drivability/mpg it's unbelievable.

I really would say save for a bit more and try and get the STi brah.. so many people on forums buy a WRX and then spend tons of money on suspension, brakes, turbos and even full gearbox changes.. do what you can to get an STi first off

Just looked at your location, you live in Texas. Send it to COBB. They have their headquarter down there and get a protune from them.

Love wagons man. First Subaru I ever owned was a wagon and I miss it. Had that thing when I was 18 going into college.
I had a Cobb AP V1 when I got my WRX. Got balls for gas mileage getting around 17 with conservative driving. Got a protune, no accessport and started getting 23 MPG before it started getting warmer along with more power and a smoother power band all around. Makes a hell of a difference

Had an 95 TSI AWD back in the day, loved the car, hated the reliability. I'll see if I can find pictures of it somewhere.

You're right, I knew this bc I passed it once on my way to Corpus I believe. Interesting. Might as well pay and get the AP as well

-keep the rx8 or..

find a reliable STI
hope my 2yr old son wont mind a 2 door CBZ

or, abandon all hope and go FWD GTI or Focus ST

how much do you think you would get for the rx8 if you were to sell it?

Missing my evo to death

.. Had to sell it year and a half ago due to moving.

BEst time was 11.68 stock turbo, stock intercooler, but on E85. Got a **** load of pics and vids if you brahs wanna see em. The car would of ran 10's on street tires plus stock turbo with me behind the wheel if I would have started porting and put a damn IC on teh car.

2005 STi is your "most reliable" bet. best year STi ever made mechanically wise.
spend a little extra and get a 2011 which is the next best thing.

Stay away from the 07-10 if possible. Not saying this is for certain but there are a lot of 07-10s that blow up due to failed ringlands and terrible factory tune. Just be cautious. There was a lot of issues with these cars in general.

E85 is the only way to do it. Just dont be stupid and make sure you get some nice injectors, and a good tuner.

dat dere e85. i ran 11.9 with stock engine/head/cams, bolt ons and 93 octane in my evo 9.

Oh yeah for sure, going to get some 1000cc's and planning on getting tuned by Devin @ BoostinPerformance
