im sure everyone gets tired of seeing these threads, but since i don't have a coach you guys are a huge help...
anyway, here's the snatch:
i was going for a snatch double but my form wasn't feeling the best on the second lift. it's only 60kg, but i refuse to just throw around weight without good form.
my last clean and jerk max attempt (92kg)
i know the jerk was rubbish, this was my 8th clean and jerk single, after missing this weight twice before (due to the jerk lol)
thanks in advance

For a self taught lifter I say you did an outstanding job!
On the jerk, safety comes first. So next time just dump the bar. You either make it or you don't so never muscle the lifts. Focus on making the commitment to get under the bar and you will set your next PR next time. This above all..

You gotta be faster into that split (and deeper). The back foot should land before the front foot (by fractions of a second).
The second pull of the clean has to be more explosive, and obviously you can go under the bar faster (only Oleg Perepetchenov is immune to this critique).Gym lifts (PB): C&J: 132.5k, Snatch: 107.5k (p)Jerk: 138k, Clean: 137k Front Squat: 153

thanks for the kind words, i normally wouldn't have had to press it out, but as i mentioned my arms were pretty fatigued from a number of sets/attempts prior to this.
so what would you recommend to help with the jerk? i've tried a number of things, BTN jerks, jerks from blocks, power jerks, etc...
believe it or not that second pull was good compared to what it used to be. i've been really hammering the high hang cleans and cleans from blocks to help with my second pull/extension as well as dropping under the bar. the problem i'm running into now is im moving forward to catch the clean, which suggests to me that i'm extending more out than up, making it harder to get that nice rack position... any thoughts?"The weak-minded would shrink away from what must be done for fear of being ridiculed by the wicked" - Terry Goodkind

I thought the second jerk looked better, much more straight up and down. However, you are short-stepping a little bit. Get that front foot out there. Also, as mentioned, once you catch the weight, stop and let it settle into place.
The first jerk was out front. Make sure you punch straight up and get that head through.Training log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=168969133
