How the hell do you beat the Elite Four the second time on Pokemon LeafGreen?

I eased through it easily until I came to the Elite 4 for second time through. My angus was not peppered for Lorelei's mid 60's level pokemon. I can't get past her level 66 Lapras.... I feel like I have a good team, but her pokemon are just too high level. This is my line-up, what do?




Raichu - body slam, thunder wave, thunder, double team
Gyarados - thunder wave, surf, bite, body slam
Lapras - confuse ray, body slam, surf, ice beam
Exeggcutor - hypnosis, dream eater, egg bomb, solarbeam
Moltres - fire spin, flamethrower, fly, agility
Nidoqueen - superpower, surf, strength, earthquake

Catch Mewtwo, Articuno, Zapdos, and Legendary Dog my only chance? And fyi my start is charizard but replaced him when I caught Moltres because moltres was 7 levels higher and way better stats... help. Bout to give yup and move along to pokemon Crystal....

EDIT - I said fuk it, and started on pokemon crystal instead of grinding levels for a new team for hours. I feel like I got the full experience of Leaf Green and it was a great time. I have moved onto crystal, as i'm doing all the generations in order, next will be emerald, then platinum, then finally black. Having a great time thus far on Crystal.

I was hoping to do it with only 1 legendary. don't think it's possible though. Dragonite would be nice, but he's such a bitch to actually get... dratini starts at level 15, gotta get dragonair to 55 to evolve. Lorelei's pokemon would one shot him with ice beam anyways.

Snorlax is level 30 in my bank, and haven't caught mewtwo or the other 2 birds.... I think i've done everything else, I might just pretend I beat em and move onto pokemon crystal so I don't have to grind out levels on a new team for a week just to beat 5 trainers.

Raichu's thunder is super effective against lapras actually, but didn't even take it to half health before getting one shotted by ice beam. Lapras also one shotted my Exeggcutor with ice beam. I don't know what to do against that b!tch

charizard would get eaten alive by lorelei anyways, any of her 5 pokemon would 1 shot him. he is weak to water AND ice.

should have used snorlax instead of nidoqueen, but nido's earthquake was so awesome against electrics.... magnemite/ton are a bitch in this one because they are part steel... not sure where to begin here re-assembling my team.

Level Snorlax, Teach it selfdestruct. Send out another pokemon, use revive again, switch snorlax back in.

Rinse Repeat.


Edit; Note: Selfdestruct is a normal type move, Snorlax is the only normal type pokemon that can learn it. Because hes the same type as the move it does more damage. 1HKO all the pokemons

yeah pretty much. from the start of the fight send out snorlax, use that **** that lets you hit critical more often, curse, toxic, bodyslam, rest when needed, pokeflute, repeat

cot damn these games are fun... can't wait to try crystal next. I just did red/blue/yellow when I was a kid so i'm playing all 5 gens through now in order.

Thats a horrendous team. No offense. Charizard is better than moltres, nidoqueen is horrible, lapras no, raichu no. Youre alright with gyradose but you need a strong psychic and ghost in there IMO.. Psychic > All

I agree with above. Train Snorlax to be your workhorse meat shield. Get rid of Queen and replace with Golem or something. You need a non-glass cannon lineup. Gyrados and Moltres are your heavy hitters... Raichu is useless is Zapdos/Electabuzz exists.

Grabbing Alakazam or Gengar would be helpful... Sleep/Dream Eater is sicknasty.

Can't get gengar because can't trade on emulator. I agree on raichu, he sucks. Will catch mewtwo with my master ball and replace him with raichu, and level up snorlax and replace nidoqueen with him.... maybe. Or i'll just start on crystal version, can't decide.

Moltres is also flying fire... with better stats. Can't get golem/alakhazam/gengar because can't trade on emulator. Have sleep, dream eater on exeggcutor. Snorlax sounds good though.

Any reason why all the hate for dropping charizard? Moltras is the exact same type Fire/Flying, and was 7 levels higher with WAYYY higher stats... is there something about charizard i'm not aware of? Used the other 2 starts the other times I played, not impressed with charizard. wish I picked Blastoise.

You can beat the game with any team srs.. But of course you have a hard time, when your whole team is 15 lvl under their pokemons..
