    Why all the hate on crossfit?

    I play rugby at varsity/Uni level (in the U.K. - not America) and our coach makes us do all these crossfit exercises along with the more traditional ones like squats and rack pulls.

    So things like:

    Vert jumps.
    Weird running exercises.
    Stepping exercises.
    Medecine ball throws.

    But it seems everyone on the misc hates crossfit, why?

    It's more the attitude about CrossFit. It's not uncommon for CrossFitters to believe that their regimen is the end-all of "functional" gains in strength/mass and fat loss. This, frankly, is not the truth.

    If you are not one of those elitist people, then more power to you.

    (And I realize there are plenty of elitist bodybuilders, too, but this thread is about CrossFit.)

    chances of injury are high and it's not really a good training program. look it up, there are tons of people who have gotten injured from training.

    the coaches are certified too quickly as well and they don't have enough knowledge to be training people

    Well we don't follow the Crossfit regimen, but we do some of there exercises like the ones I told you in the OP.

    Yeah, I have a scholarship, but not for sports, its for my academics. Uni gave me one to study so I went there and I tried out for the rugby team and got in after two gruelling trial sessions.

    And in terms of having no problems v me, if you catch me or get a good hold of me then yeah you'll probably win. But its all about positioning, line running, set moves and seeing where the gaps are in rugby. I could also probably put you on your azz if you were running at me with the ball.

Almost any normal "bodybuilder" should respect crossfit because the people are lifting weights and improving themselves if for no other reason. Even if the aesthetic results aren't quite as good
