I'd be selling two sets of 10lb - 60lb dumbbells for a total of 1,540lb, all in good condition. I'd also be selling two twin-tier racks... I don't know what brand, but any estimate of a used-market price for those would be appreciated as well. I have an opportunity to buy a huge set, but these are the duplicates I'd be selling.

What is a realistic used-market price for Ivanko rubber-coated dumbbells?

costco sold some really crappy ivanko dbells (5-50 with two tier rack)....i think they would be worth less than a buck a pound.[]---[] Equipment Crew Member No. 12

This is true to an extent, but that doesn't mean he has to come out of the gate ignoring the fact that he's got something nice.
OP..... a set like that is going to go for $400-600 around me and that's for regular gray hex dumbbells.
Half of new wouldn't be a bad place to start, or $1/lb, or some other arbitrary figure that gives you the premium you're looking for and probably deserve. The only issue is finding the buyer willing to give you close to what you're asking. You might find that guy, but in my experience its likely to require patience. Eventually, the guy that knows they're worth more will come along....until then, the average CL.....in Playaj's words, "...don't give a **** about brand bro...."▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #4 ▪█─────█▪

you're comparing a highly engineering car, with electronics, and tons of other science put in there, to a dumbbell, a piece of steel and maybe some rubber.
I do know for a fact CL flippers (that's what I call them, they hog up all the equipment, has a place to store them and flip them for profit), they know about "brand name" and will buy it off you for a higher price than say the average CLer that doesn't know about brand, but even so they'll buy it really cheap (because they'll need to flip it for profit), so you still won't get much from these guys.
it's not that you can't sell brand name stuff for the proper price, it'll just take longer.
there's a guy that posted a set of hoist dumbbells with rack for 300 in my area (don't remember the amount of weight, but the set is relatively average to big)... dude's been posting for 2 months already, my guess is that he ain't got any one calling yet.

The point Hardkore was making is that there is a difference in the quality of equipment. There is and if a seller is patient and a particular piece of equipment has value, it will sell. More people probably know the added value of a luxury car....which is why it would take longer to sell a good piece of equipment, but it isn't that hard to do.
Duh.....if they're trying to make money....why would they want to buy at a high price? Nobody can get screwed in a negotiation...if you're not happy....don't make a deal.
This is 100% true, unless the seller gets lucky. CLers are looking for bargains and don't typically expect to get high end stuff for a discount. The guy that knows what something is worth and wants it is out there, you just have to be patient until he sees your ad.
I'd like to see the link to this ad. Your area seems pretty depressed considering some of the prices you've suggested. I don't know what an "average to big" set of db's is.... but I can sell a 5-50lb set of rusty hex db's for $350 almost without putting an ad on CL. If you can't command that type of money (at least) on a set of Hoist DB's.....something is wrong with your market or the guy's product. I will say that I think there is a plateau area on DB's. They're expensive new and some guys try to sell their large sets for thousands of dollars.... they're discounted, but $1500 is a lot of money for most people to shell out. Personally, I wouldn't want to try to flip a large set of db's unless I'd paid nothing for them. 5-50lbs sets are where people find a good mix between what they're getting and what they want to spend.
Are you in the Maryland area? I see a link there to some Hoist Adjustables in the Maryland area and another in Connecticut. One add has been listed for $400 and the other for $450. If you happen to be referring to these or another Hoist Adjustable ad.....the reason they aren't selling is because they aren't worth $300 and certainly not $400. Those are old Hoist Adjustables and came from the old Ironmaster design...... those or the old Ironmasters are worth about $250 and not much more.....many people have gotten them for $100 or $150......$300 and up is a dreamer.
Not sure if those are what you're talking about, but if so they just aren't priced correctly in just about any US market.

So you're going to sell 2 sets of 10-60 and then keep a set of 10-110? A lot of numbers rolling around....want to make sure I got it.
If that's what you got going on, I'd ask $850 for each set and a rack. You have so much room to negotiate here, I don't see it being a bad deal. If you're only able to sell them for $500 a piece.... you're still going to get a set of Ivanko DB's (10-110) and racks for $1200.
If you have the cash and space, I wouldn't personally let them go for less than $700 a piece and I think that would be a good deal for somebody, tbh.
Good luck, this is a good opportunity.
Take a little time to clean them up and take very good pictures..... lots of close ups with the word "IVANKO" covering up the screen of any interested buyers.▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #4 ▪█─────█▪
