how to keep forearms from wearing out before bi's?

i've had this problem for a long time - i mostly only have it when i curl with dumbbells, though. it seems that my forearms wear out before my bi's give out on me. i don't use straps but i do wear gloves so the db's dont slip out of my hands. when i'm curling with an ez-curl bar, i get this problem, but not as bad as with db's. its not like my bi's arent getting worked or anything, but at the end of a set when i cant do one more rep, i drop the weight and it feels like my forearms are on fire more so than my bi's. i also sometimes get "cramping" in my hands so once in a while i'll have to cut a set short by a rep or 2.

im not a big guy, so when i pick up the weights, theres not a ton of "meat" on my hands to cushion me from getting pain in my hands, but i'm more concerned with my forearm issue. do i need to work on my mind-muscle connection more (using my bi's more and forearms less)? try different grips? please help! whats wrong with me?

    thanks

Doesn't really matter what day you do them on. Just make sure you do them last.

Many people make the mistake of gripping the bar or dumbell to death, causing their forearms to fatique alot quicker than they normally would.
Train smarter. Anyone can "train"... It's training Intelligently that makes the difference!

i dont think i do that, but as i progress through a set or workout, i'm sure my grip tightens up. i'll keep that in mind and see if i'm unconsciously trying to crush the bar with my grip.

    thanks.
