Green tea has scientific backing by the 2005 'American Journal of Clinical Nutrition' - A study which showed over a 3 month period that those taking 690mg of green tea catechins lost 5.3 pounds vs the 2.9 pounds lost with those who didn't (same diet same exercise routine etc.) - No long term studies exist that I know of though.
Drink at least 6 cups a day to get any benefit from Green Tea. Alternatively you can take the Green Tea extract, just make sure you take a good dosage of catechins. 600mg+
L-carnitine however is bro-science.
M.H. Williams et al in 1992 discovered L-Carnitine to be useless in active people. In another quote,
M. H. Williams et al also "researched the use of ergogenic aids among endurance athletes, and found L-carnitine to be ineffective. Factors that did in fact enhance performance were genetic endowment, proper training and nutrition, and an adequate supply of fluids and carbohydrates."
J.P. Krabbe et al in 1996 found that it was dismissed through urine. Long story short, consuming L-carnitine for extra fat loss won't work. Only those deficient in carnitine will benefit from it. It's the most recommended supp because its natural and your liver produces it and it can be found in meat. But taking more of what you already have doesn't mean it will benefit you.
And here are the sources :
Krabbe J.P (1996) "L- carnitine. Training –Nutrition."

There's no such thing as a weight loss pill that works. Keep that in mind. Hard work, less calories and there is your fat burner my friend.Last edited by XXceL; 01-30-2012 at 06:09 PM.

"Research by Japanese and other researchers(1) suggest that if the average person were to drink five cups of green tea a day, they would burn an extra 70 to 80 extra calories through an effect known as thermogenesis - the process of heat production in organisms. While much of the thermogenesis effect in green tea is derived from caffeine, studies also suggest(2) that thermogenesis in green tea occurs to some degree beyond its caffeine content from epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG.)"
Just add some caffeine if your lacking in your diet, if not don't think green tea will add that much more for you."Avoid fruits and nuts. You are what you eat."

Along with a good diet for fat loss, green tea is the best option out of what you posted. Carnitine is not that effective orally, injected it is very effective. Anyways...
For green tea go with Yerba Mate. Yerba is the God of Green Tea

Yes.
No.
Mate = good, but no substitute.
Hell no, wtf?
Green tea can aid mild fat loss; there's a good reason it's in most fatburners. But more importantly, it's AWESOME for overall health, like nearly everything, and the anti-cancer and anti-aging effects are such that everyone should consider taking it as a staple.~ Roast Master, Resident Coffee Warlock~
