Well? Random reps to people that vote and comment.
By comfortable/luxurious I mean driving cars you want/living where you want and living in the house or place you want/travelling where you want/basically doing most of the stuff you want but not at the level you are careless with money.
edit: household income pre-taxes in $$$$$$$$

They say you reach a cap of happiness from money alone just before you hit 100k. I could live a pretty nice lifestyle at 100k, anything more than that is icing on the cake. I'll probably never buy a second summer home because I like my parents summer home that will be passed down, I do not really have a thing for cars, and my main luxurious interest is traveling. How much money I'll need will probably depend on how big of a family I end up with but personally, I do not need to be a top 1% wage earner to be happy.

Personally I could live in complete comfort/satisfaction only making $40,000 a year, which pretty soon here is what I will be making as a police officer.
I am a simple dude. I don't want kids, I don't wear nice expensive clothes, I don't have tons of expensive hobbies, etc etc. Plus police officers don't have to pay for their own gas and often get a lot of meals at a discount from most places around here.
I actually prefer a small cozy house with simple furnishings over a huge phucking empty ass house any day. If it's going to be just me and my wife I wouldn't want a big house. As far as hobbies and toys go.. I am pretty simple. I like playing video games (cheap), going to see movies and going out to eat at regular resturants (cheap), go to the beach (free). I have no urge to ever spend a lot of money on some super expensive automobile either. I would be happy with a nice used truck or car thats a few years old.
I wear regular levi jeans and plain t shirts as a majority of my outfits. The one expensive item I wear that would cost somewhat a lot is my choice in shoes. Love Osiris, Nike 6.0, and Adidas. Plus my girlfriend is going to school to become a nurse so she will have her own income to spend however she feels fit.
As long as I have enough money to buy a small house, a nice used vehicle, pay insurance for everything, have some toys (video games and maybe a snowmobile/4 wheeler), go see movies and go out to eat pretty regularly I will have a blast for the rest of my life.
Simple shyt makes me happy. And I never place anything higher than my health and happiness as far as value goes.
EDIT - By the way, I don't see myself ever wanting to go on vacation more than once every couple years. Never making it too extravagant or anything either.
