    Satiety from eating sweet potatoes

I really like eating sweet potatoes and it is considered a "super food" or whatever.. but does anyone else have that problem that they never really feel full from eating sweet potatoes? I feel that if I ate 1 small potato.. I feel satisfied and full but if I eat the same size sweet potato.. I never feel full -_-

My guess is that, because it apparently causes less of a blood sugar increase than regular potatoes, the insulin release isn't as great, and insulin acts as a satiety hormone in the brain.

So with that logic drinking soda or eating candy should be the best for satiety..... Funny that

Not necessarily. Yes, insulin does promote satiety, but it's the combination of dozens of hormones and chemicals working together that determine satiety. Insulin, though, is one of the hormones that leads to greater satiety.

eat it raw... when it is cooked the fiber / complex carbs break down into more easily digestible sugars

I generally find that 150 calories of mixed vegetables is much more filling than 150 calories of a sweet potato. But they sure do taste good and have a ton of nutrients in them.
