They are the victims of an attempted genocide and massive cultural upheaval. They have a very low rate of education and unemployment and a high rate of substance abuse, a self-perpetuating cycle. The australian government does almost nothing to address the problem, they just throw money and handouts at them and hope it goes away. There are a lot of f*cking retards (like the ones in this topic), who, when they manage to connect their few remaining neurons, think their racism is justified because "herp derp we give them money, what more do they need?"
The aboriginals who have been given the opportunities and tools to succeed do so just as well as any other race.

majority of people who defend aborigines and their behaviours generally have little experience with aborigines and live in nice middle class suburbs in the city and only ever seeing aborigines on TV. These people spew up all of the horror stories they learnt in grade 2 about how england did all these bad things to aborigines when invading stating "that's why aborigines are this way you racists!".

i can understand what england did was horrible (ie massacres and stolen generation) but they can't continue to justify drug abuse, violence, rape, theft etc (EVEN AGAINST THEIR OWN PEOPLE) as well as a general hatred of white people forever.

i worked as a social worker in government jobs for 1.5 years and dealt with a lot of aboriginal people. Many are nice people (when they're sober) but MOST are happy drinking their lives away on the dole and leeching from the government by ways of public housing, and purposely getting preggers to get the $4000 baby bonus. it annoys me when it always comes back to being "the white man's" fault. it's time they took some responsibility and changed their attitude to break the cycle - the "migaloo ****s" (whitefellas) can't do this for them.

Let me guess they're the same people that are adamant about keeping their 'culture'? I'd love to see what these people were doing if the government wasn't giving them cushy jobs.
I got cousins and uncles that know all their culture but culture doesn't help them get a job. Their all unemployed. There's nothing wrong with culture but in today's society you've got to have education and skills of the western world to go along with it otherwise you'll be on the dole your whole life.
