I just made the switch over to win7

It's neat. I'm poor so haven't been able to purchase new computer for a while.

How come there is no defrag feature in windows 7? I'm assuming it's something technical like it doesn't use NT...

Also, is there a 'check for errors' feature?

And how come there isn't any 'formatting' requirement when installing win7 on a computer?

Win7 does have Defrag.

idk what u mean by check for errors

and as for formatting, it formats when u choose which partition to install you. if the partition is setup correctly it will just install. if its not, then it should have prompted you to do something.

I checked under 'maintenance' and 'accessories'; unable to find 'defrag' option.

Wasn't that hard to find. You could of also just typed "Defrag" in the search bar that pops up when you hit the start button

Also, dont use the windows defragmenter. That ish is a sloth. Use defraggler(google it).

go to control panel and search defrag in the upper right hand corner. should be under administrative tools

Window 7 Defrag is set to automatically occur every week on Wednesday during the middle of the night (approx. 2am-6am).
