    how to eat more food?

    I can't force myself to eat enough calories, i'm supplementing with weight gainer and the maximum amount of calories i can consume is around 2500, i need 3500. Is there any way to increase my appetite?

    my stoner roommate in college was ALWAYS hungry, but I would not recommend that route.

    in all seriousness though, I think it's important to consume calorie dense foods - I've heard of some hard-gainers taking 'shots' of olive oil - to meet certain caloric requirements. Nuts in general are dense in calories, and easy to keep around to snack on throughout the day, and tasty too.

    Try making your own high calorie shakes. Can include things like full fat milk, oats, pb, olive oil, ice cream, yogurt, fruits and protein powder.

    I used to have trouble eating enough as well.

    Personally speaking I found the following helped.

    -Drinking more milk (as was mentioned above), what you get for what you consume is great. If you're worried about fats keep it to 1% you'll still get close to 200cals from a big glass.

    -Replacing snacks with larger meals. I.E. I used to do a shake and snack after a workout, but I find it's a great time to do a full meal given that you've worked up an appetite (keep the shake in).

    -This is probably the most important if you ask me, if you're not already get on a schedule!! As is the same with almost everything else your body will operate and function much better food consumption and usage wise if you schedule it.

    It's nothing revolutionary, but hopefully some of it helps.

    Edit: Also, not to sound critical, but you mind find more response for this question in the nutrition thread.

    Use to have the same problem but then started to eat a huge breakfast everyday and even if u can't eat a big breakfast make sure to eat something it will help you be hungry for the rest of the day (atleast for me it does)

    first you put more food on the plate, grab a fork... Ok now we are going to play airplane rrrrrrr ok one in and back for another load rrrrr back in. Something like that. it works on infants so maybe it will work for you too.

    You can do whole milk, add some extra virgin olive oil if you are eating veggies.

    Eat oatmeal with whole milk for breakfast, with 6 eggs, have 2 of them be whole eggs, use some chicken thigh for higher calorie.

    Use peanut butter in your shakes. If you are doing 6oz portions of meat do 8oz portions with every meal and see how that goes. Eat a handful of nuts too.

    Don't buy a weight gainer, make your own.

    Fix yourself a shake and keep it in the fridge. Set an alarm and get up in the middle of the night and drink the shake. Drink a protein shake with every meal. If you want to be bigger and stronger you have to do things that are outside the bounds of normalcy.

    Yup. And OP, I'm going to assume that given your age, you are likely in college. When I was in college, getting my arss out of bed before 11am was definitely "outside the realm of normalcy" on most days, and it just killed my nutrition goals because i would inevitably wind up eating breakfast right before noon, which would put lunch and dinner and everything else on a whacky schedule. Getting enough calories in is actually pretty easy if you're up at 7am, eat breakfast, and then have some sort of high caloric shake between breakfast and lunch. If you're not waking up early enough to eat breakfast and get in an extra snack, do it.

    Training hard (with a lot of compound lifts) should also increase hunger. Other than that, what everyone else has said is solid too.

    Little things will help you out a lot. Try sleeping early, getting your full 8 hours, but waking up early. Then eating throughout the day. I always eat more during the day and hardly anything after dinner. If you wake up at 8am, you can get in close to 2000k by 1-3pm. If you sleep in till 11-12, your going to have to cram food in all day! Hope that helps bro!

    second, if you're 117lbs where do you get the 3500 calorie number from? im 160 and 3500 seems to be adding weight too fast for me lol...

    man all i can say is slowly start adding those calories to your meal plan bro. eat every 2 hours if anything. what i usually do is just add ingredients to my shakes and blend them together and that helps me get those extra calories in the off-season. i usually have 7-8 meals in the off-season to get all my calories in during the day. i usually start off very slowly after a show though. i do 6 meals, then add a 7th and so on. do it slowly until your body adapts and trust me it will.
