I cover/utility drive for UPS in south orange county. Specifically Costa Mesa, Newport Beach, Newport Coast and Laguna Beach.

How long do I have to stay as Package Handler before I can do something else on my quest to become a UPS Driver ...and realistically, how long would it take a person to become a Driver these days? In 3 years? Longer?

Check with your HR dept for other part time jobs that are available or will be available in the near future. Loading trucks/feeders is the worst ****in job there. Find something easy like revenue audit. Depends on your area. High growth areas you can go full time as quick as 3 years in, low or non growth areas you are waiting at least 8 years, if not more.

Pay depends on years worked and Local union rules.

I make low mid $20 per hour with ot.

Sending drugs via fedex/ups is never a good idea and I would never condone it. That said, drug dogs are called in once suspicion has already been aroused. There are no dogs on hand at the hub. The sheer volume that goes through our hubs makes it impossible to check all pkgs for drugs. Anything that makes a box stick out will draw a red flag. Make that **** look/smell like a normal box and you won't have problems.

Yeah, you'd be very surprised at the amount of chicks that are not shy at all about that ****. Lots of older chicks at houses will blatantly hit on you, as well as secretaries.

Only takes one dumb house slut to **** up your life and get you fired though. It's a fine line you gotta dance.

No, I am still considered part time. I drive probably about 8 months of the year, the other 4 I am in the hub doing my part time job. Those numbers vary though based on volume and the amount of people that are hurt/on vacation etc.

**** yes, I don't knock until im taking a step away from the door so by the time they open the door im usually crankin the engine and driving away.

To be honest, I rarely work in LB. Mostly NPC, CM and NPB.

Yeah man, not sure how the **** managers do what they do. Way to much pressure comes down from the ivory tower. I could not be in management.

take it for what its worth. UPS drivers / workers have some of the WORST work related body degeneration of ALL occupations.

Some of them get paid by route completed:

They get to bank extra routes at the end of their "assigned" routes or GO home early. OR go phuck the lonely house wife when they get done before the husband gets home...luluz
