Four jailed after farm kidnapping
Four people have been jailed over the kidnap and false imprisonment of a north London man who was held captive at a deserted farm in Kent.
The four were all found guilty of both charges at an earlier hearing at Maidstone Crown Court.
Alan Clark, 46, was bundled into a van in Camden and taken to the farm in Shadoxhurst, where he was bound, gagged, blindfolded and threatened.
He managed to escape and call 999 following the incident in March 2006.
This has been a complex investigation involving a huge amount of meticulous police work
Det Ch Insp Jon Bumpus
Company director Dean Rice, 46, of Peppercorn Cottages, Button Street, Swanley, was given an indeterminate sentence, with a minimum term of five years, at a hearing on Wednesday.
Nicole Rice, 42, of the same address, was given five years for each charge, the terms to be served concurrently.
Trevor Lloyd Chrouch, 40, of Ormes Meadow, Owlthorpe, Sheffield, was given an indeterminate sentence, with a minimum term of a three-and-a-half years to be served.
Michael James Kelly, 63, of Clayworth Close, Sidcup, was given five years for each charge, the terms to be served concurrently.
After the convictions last month, Det Ch Insp Jon Bumpus said: "This has been a complex investigation involving a huge amount of meticulous police work.
"The team of officers and police staff have done an exceptional job."
