not saying this is regularly the case, but I watched my 5'10" athletic friend absolutely destroy an athletic 6'5" kid. 3 punches, game over. Once you get inside, reach isn't an issue.

OP when neither of the two have no clue about fighting than i guess you are right, but when both are fighters and are experienced than it doesn't matter. The smaller dude would be moving around him a lot quicker but not very powerful but the big guy powerful but not fast. Ehich brings up the question speed or power? and i say speed, but that's just my opinion and it just makes a lot more sense when you've actually been into some sort of martial arts.
