Wrist Wrench - new electric wrap roller

    http://www.liftinglarge.com/wrapwrench.aspx

I've heard people say they'd rather not spend money on one of those drill attachments because it's extra stuff to bring and it's expensive, and just one more thing that you can forget to bring or one more thing that can go wrong.

I just found this one. It's $30, one part, small, doesn't seem very noisy, and at 250 wraps per charge it seems like a really good deal. The only downsides I can see compared to the TAM attachment is that the WrapWrench is $10 more (but doesn't require you to buy a power drill if you don't already have one) and it probably doesn't roll as fast as a higher powered drill could.

Just wanted to share this with everyone since it seems new and looks better than anything I've seen before.

    edit: no sales pitch

I got fired from a job once because the Impact gun grabbed my pants and wrapped them around my leg a bit. they said it could have crushed my bone/broke my leg etc. lol Just sayin using a power tool to wrap something around your leg can be extremely dangerous I guess.

Its not used to wrap the wrap around your leg. It's to roll up the wrap.

Btw great find. I will purchase this for sure.

lol. It rolls your wraps and then you actually wrap them. I don't know if you've ever rolled wraps, but it sucks.

Wait... so this thing just rolls up your wrap, like from a 24 inch long piece of fabric to a coiled piece of fabric?

LAM, I said that in reference to the people who don't know what it does / why someone would want to use this instead of hand rolling their wraps. Don't be a dick.

And njg, poo. I already ordered it, hopefully it holds up. If not, hopefully there's a return policy. Looks like it was in New Orleans at 2 this morning so if I get it I'll try it out.

The only thing that scares me about it is that its made for boxers wraps not PL wraps. In the video on liftinglarge its stich from the UFC rolling boxing wraps and he'll not doing it tight like a PLer would.

It came partially charged. I tried rolling one of my wraps and it seemed to work good for the first third or half of the wrap, but then it kinda stopped. I don't know if that was because it wasn't charged all the way or maybe it just isn't strong enough. I was still able to get a good wrap out of it, just had to stretch it more than normal.. I'll try it again in an hour or two after it charges a little and do a comparison, take pics of wraps, nudes, and post here.

This is a pair of 2.0m Inzer Iron Z wraps. For comparison:

    My hand-rolled wrap: approx 2 7/8" diameter

Wrap Wrench wrap: approx 3 1/8" diameter

Some of the difference is due to the Wrap Wrench's thick center, so considering that, I'd say overall the Wrap Wrench wrap is only a little looser than my hand rolled wrap.

At my level I don't think the tiny bit of extra tightness will make a difference, but saving my grip strength for the actual wrapping and for the deadlift in a meet should come in handy.

edit: sorry, been calling it "Wrist Wrench" this whole time when it's actually called "Wrap Wrench"

But the whole point of using something like this is to stretch the wrap and get a tight roll.

I saw it and was curious. I wouldn't mind a regular wrap roller but they as so amazingly expensive. That amount of steel and that few moving parts is something that I (if I were A- not lazy and B- not stupid) could make for 15$ tops

Sorry for the bump, but I said before it seems like a good product. I've changed my mind after using it two more times. So in case anyone was thinking of getting one of these... don't. There's barely enough torque to roll a foot's length tightly, and it's even worse for a more cast-like wrap (like the THP's I just rolled today).

I actually talked to the guy at the fit expo this past weekend and he told me he will have the actual attachment for sale in the near future. Then you won't have to use the 4v drill it comes with and you will be able to use your personal drill. He said it will easily withstand the torque of an 18v.
