    Holy cow, he's alive!

Write up will be done later on, after work, but I've successfully conquered OHP day Wednesday, AND bench day today.

Back's still a mite stiff in the morning, but the pain is almost completely non-existent. Thank the powers that be. I'm so glad it was nothing worse.

Lachine, QC, Canada 05/25/2012 4:17 Package data processed by brokerage Waiting for clearance
Mesquite, TX, United States 05/25/2012 0:29 Departure Scan

So, according to this, my package is on its way. I've ordered 1x Inzer Forever Lever belt (black) 10mm, and 1x pair of medium Iron Wrist Wraps Z. I'm hoping that they'll be in early next week, but it's showing as being in EXCEPTION.

Odd. There's no way that it could've made it to the border and into Lachine in 4 hours by UPS Standard... So I'm wondering what the exception/problem might be.

On the diet front: I'm starting to clean it back up. I'm tired of hovering around 208-210. I want to be 200, and soon. I have to shift money around in my budget to account for the amount of chicken/broccoli/etc that I'm going to be buying... And I suppose I'll have to go into low carb mode. Shouldn't be a huge problem, I just really have to watch what I eat. I'm going to put together a meal/lunch plan at some point, post it here, and get your comments on it.

    piff, food is over rated

I eat a tone of chicken and turkey. ugh, I'm so sick of it. I've cooked/grilled/baked it every kind of way possible for the last 18 years. I can't eat low carb though. My blood sugar seems to drop too much and I get weak when I go that route.

good luck with the diet plan.

I made it through my workout last night with no back pain. My back is still "tweaking"/tender though. All its going to take is me to move the wrong way while wakeboarding and bam!, I'll be down for a couple of months. But, that thought isn't going to stop me from having fun this weekend. I shall have fun on the lake and drink a massive amount of beer when I get home.

    bawhahahaha !!!!

I just couldn't resist. jcranston, you set yourself up for that one. If you can't tell, I have a warped Alabama, redneck sense of humor.

I'm waiting for 5:00 and beer and I'm going to try to behave and not hurt myself this weekend. Oh, now I'm hearing reports of that flesh eating disease reported in Georgia (4 cases now). I don't want to go to the lake.

Lake Martin is so pretty. My neighbor wants us to come to his place over there this weekend but I don't want to have to drive what, 45 min to get there. Lake Harding is awful with people and ...................gators!

I like West Point Lake. Its quiet and not full of people & homes. BUT, there are gators there too. I swore I wasn't getting back in ANY lake around here but decided I'd give it a go once more.

I'd rather just sit in my airconditioned house with the big screen, sofa, beer, grill, xbox and do nothing.

Take some weight off the bar and get back in there!
That is an awesome quote, and so true.

My work buddy has bad knees and thought that he couldn't squat deep. I convinced him to try to squat below parallel with just bodyweight and then if he could do that without pain to add weight and keep doing it. He finally came back to me today and said "hey, I think you were right about those squats - going deeper actually feels better on my knees....."

    Pffft. PS3.

But I can't play mine right now; no tv at the moment!

I agree. When I started to correct my squat form, I stopped having left knee pains. Was pretty awesome.

    Jason, a question for you...

What would you do, personally, in my situation re: deads? Do a volume session and re-do cycle 5 weights next cycle? Continue as normal for a 1+ day? Do the 3+ day weight and continue/reset? Reset 10%?

Sorry, I guess I missed that part of it. Injuries are a little different. Just take it slow and make sure you aren't going to hurt yourself. If anything feels off - either take a break, or drop the weight significantly.

    So today was Deadlift day.

The day of Reckoning. That day that lives in infamy.

    That. Day.

And what an awesome day it was! I have no gym footage, so I figure that I'll put together an end vlog when I finally get home (no matter what time), and edit it together with this morning's car blah blah.

    In other news:

Lachine, QC, Canada: 05/30/2012 10:42 Package data processed by brokerage Waiting for clearance / Receiver's customs broker has been assigned The shipment is now released to move in transit

So I should have my package by end of business day today, or tomorrow. Which is AWESOME. I cannot wait.

Holy quadruple post. Have I fallen off a few people's sub list? Jeez.

    5/3/1 Cycle 5 Week 3 Day 2
    Deadlift day
    Date: Wednesday, May 30th, 2012
    Weight today: 207.2lbs

    Barbell Deadlift:
    ------------------
    115 lb x 5 reps (+50 pts)
    140 lb x 5 reps (+59 pts)
    170 lb x 3 reps (+58 pts)
    210 lb x 5 reps (+95 pts)
    240 lb x 3 reps (+94 pts)
    265 lb x 3 reps (+111 pts)

First session of deadlifts after an entire week off. Went VERY well. I had it in mind that, as soon as something felt off, I'd stop and move on to volume. I made sure to not touch and go, which killed me pretty hard. Managed a 3 pull on the 1+. I'm very happy with that. Means that I get to progress.

Also ... PR from Fitocracy, though I'm sure my PR is 275x5...

    BBB Deads volume:
    -----------------
    140 lb x 10 reps (+70 pts)
    140 lb x 10 reps (+70 pts)
    140 lb x 10 reps (+70 pts)
    140 lb x 10 reps (+70 pts)
    140 lb x 10 reps (+70 pts)

Did these all touch 'n' go, as they were light as ... But I made sure form was tight, and did them pretty slowly. Even worse. Even. Worse. But I was just elated to be able to do the entire workout!

    Hanging Knee Raise:
    ----------------------
    15 reps (+5 pts)
    15 reps (+5 pts)
    15 reps (+5 pts)
    15 reps (+5 pts)
    15 reps (+5 pts)

These are killing me again, so I'm back on knee raises for now. I have to add in ab wheel work during the evenings. I keep saying that, must start doing it. Along with chin-ups on the basement's support beam.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Vlog link will be incoming later. As ddog mentioned, it's been a bit of a social log the past little while. I was a bit bummed about the whole deadlift deal, so I let things slip. I didn't get gym footage, only because it seems like these women are coming in and using bits of equipment that they shouldn't be... aka: occupying a power rack to do pull-ups from a platform on. That, and the sheer number of people this morning was crazy. I've never seen that many people in there before. In any case!

My package... So close. So. So. Close. I'm anxious to see what using wrist wraps for bench will be like.

    Music of ze day:
