You see the bad karma that comes from curling in the squat rack?
Seriously though man, glad your son is ok.

Actually, the curls in the rack were done after, to get me back to some good karma

Is the higher rep range getting easier now that you keep using it? I imagine when you get back down to 5 or less reps that you will think it's really easy as long as the weight isn't too heavy.

Nice to hear the little J is ok and that his head isnt too sore, must have gotten a fright though.

Karmic punishment for too much time between curls in the rack sessions. I shall do them at least once a week from now on!!!

High reps still suck lol. On paper, the 5 rep wave looks pretty easy for me, because the weights aren't anything worse than I've done on VD/ID when I was doing TM, but unfortunately I've lost at least a little bit of strength on this cut, so we'll see how it plays out. I'm still very hopeful that I can come out of this 16 week cycle with weights at least close to what I could at the end of my dirty bulk. By the end of this cut, I'll have lost close to, if not more than 25% of my bodyweight, so if I can come out of it only losing 10% off my lifts, which I think is definitely possible, then technically I still got stronger.

Thanks man. DOMS from higher rep higher volume deadlifts is brutal.

Thanks Chris. Yeah it's just as much the scare as it is the pain that causes them to cry so much. Didn't take him more than 2-3 minutes to calm down and stop crying.
Barbell Squat:
45 lb x 5 reps (+36 pts)
95 lb x 4 reps (+46 pts)
145 lb x 3 reps (+56 pts)
195 lb x 5 reps (+99 pts)
235 lb x 3 reps (+104 pts)
270 lb x 2 reps (+111 pts)
290 lb x 1 reps (+102 pts)
310 lb x 8 reps (+243 pts)
Probably had at least one more, but my back was still a little sore from Saturday's deadlifts and it felt like I was starting to GM the weight a bit at the end. Also, I think I might be coming down with something, and I had this weird feeling in my throat that got worse with each rep. I wasn't nauseous at all, but my throat felt like I was gonna throw up, it was weird.
Barbell Bench Press:
45 lb x 10 reps (+43 pts)
95 lb x 5 reps (+51 pts)
135 lb x 5 reps (+67 pts)
165 lb x 3 reps (+66 pts)
190 lb x 2 reps (+66 pts)
205 lb x 1 reps (+59 pts)
220 lb x 7 reps (+132 pts)
Failed the 8th rep. Roll of shame executed flawlessly. Oh well, I missed the rep standard by one. It actually doesn't affect the calculation for next cycle due to rounding, though I honestly wasn't going to drop my training max anyway. Hopefully now that I'm going to be back in the rep range I'm more familiar with, I'll have a little more success in the next wave.
Parallel-Grip Pull-Up:
12 reps (+131 pts) PR
I wanted at least something to feel good about, so I just went for one max rep set of pullups. I believe this was a 2 rep PR for parallel grip. I have done 12 reps with a regular pullup grip and with a chinup grip last summer, but I was at least 10 lbs lighter for both of those.
You missed the 8th rep cuz you forgot to wear your belt silly.
Honestly though, there's no freaking way you couldn't have gotten 8 reps of 220. Must've been an off day. lol
Still some great work across the board. I'll take those 8 reps of 310 right now, thanks.

I might try my belt again when I get to the realization phase on the 5 rep wave.

Thanks Mike. Yeah next week is deload, which actually works out perfectly because I'm doing a Tough Mudder a week from Saturday, so I don't have to worry about being sore from lifting. I'll probably do it all in one session early/mid next week so I can focus more on getting a few long distance runs in to prep for the race.
Hope you don't come down with any weird ship that prohibits dem gainz D:

haha great timing dude, I got a 5k on saturday. Nothing compared to a tough mudder but I probably won't push it with deadlifts thursday. I haven't run like at all to prepare.

Nice work on those squats man and Bench was pretty damn impressive as well, roll of shame even looked good! Got to practice getting it up over the belt next time though!

Oh I'm sure it will play it's part in stealing all my gains. I'm already on Amoxacillin for a tooth infection. Fortunately, I only have one more session this week, then it's deload week next week. Hopefully everything will be all cleared up and I'll be ready to fukc **** up the following week.

Yeah, it worked out perfectly, I didn't even have to rearrange anything lol. At least you've done a 5k before. TM is 10-12 miles plus all the obstacles, and I'm not joking when I say I don't think I've ever run more than 2 miles at once in my life.

Are you blind, I set a parallel grip pullup rep PR. I took a break from setting PR's on the main lifts so you could catch up. I'll cut for a few more months, then when autumn rolls around, I'll start smashing PR's like it's my job.
