Yeah, its not that hard. I just have to figure out the design, get together the wood, and get together the time to build it.
I built some bookshelves this weekend - stained last night and will get a couple coats of polyurethane on them this week.

Reasonably soon. I had a long lay off, then I was gonna enter a meet with a strongman/powerlifter I see at the gym even though I knew I couldn't PR anything, but I bailed on him as work got busy again. This year things are more settled so I'm gonna just put a good summer of training together and enter one when I can beat all my lifts from before my lay off. Call it ego, I just wanna break new ground at a meet, although apparantely that's not what your first meet should really be about. Worked for you though.

I need to put a meet in the plans. Probably should plan on it for next summer. Curling just takes too much time for now. Would try to go 9/9 and break 1k total. Unless I get red lighted on an earlier lift, then I might try for an all time Deadlift pr with my last rep. But that is probably a year away.

Yeah it was hard to get past that mentality. My squats and bench still aren't quite as strong as they were at the end of my bulk, and for a while I used that as an excuse to not compete yet. That first meet should be more about learning than about hitting a certain total. Even though I sat with the PL coach at my gym for over an hour to discuss everything that happens in a meet, there were still so many things that I learned.
You should definitely do one, it's a lot of fun. If you could stay consistent, you'd easily hit those numbers. You just have to stop traveling every other week lol.
Thanks man. Yeah I love the slingshot. Klokov's are fun, plus they should help carry over to snatches as well.Powerlifting Log - http://tinyurl.com/jshaw5

Very nice VD
Pausing squats the end of sets is badass
I like the slingshot work, really kill that lockout! I like tossing In the reverse band bench once in awhile for the same reason (plus it's fun to load up the bar a little extra )PRs: Back Squat- 410x1 / Front Squat- 320x1/ Bench- 325x1 / Deadlift- 505x1

Thanks wood man. I love throwing in that pause at the very end, definitely feels bad ass. I really like the slingshot, since you get to hit the triceps with more weight than you can bench, whereas things like cgbp, floor press, tricep extensions, etc, you're using less weight.

Texas Method – Recovery Day
Squat
45 lbs x 5 reps
105 lbs x 5 reps
165 lbs x 5 reps
215 lbs x 5 reps x 2
I wore my oly shoes just for the hell of it. It pisses me off that I can't squat in these things, they just feel so solid and stable. Considering the two separate periods in which I tried squatting in oly shoes were both during my cut when my squats were feeling like doodoo and going down the toilet anyway, I would at some point like to try them out when things are going good. For now I'm focused on putting up some big numbers for the next meet though, so maybe after that I'll give them another shot.
Klokov Press
45 lbs x 5 reps
65 lbs x 5 reps
75 lbs x 5 reps
80 lbs x 5 reps x 3
I love these things now.
Sotts Press
45 lbs x 5 reps
Just for Jani, see vid.

Yeah it's not bad at all, I was honestly expecting it to be at least $30-40/month. They do have different pricing depending on how long you commit for, I can't remember if I did 6 months or a year, but I think if you don't want to commit, it's like $25/month, then a few bucks cheaper with a 6 month commitment and a couple more bucks cheaper with a year commitment.
What's making you want to join a gym vs. training at home?
You could always join Plant Fitness for like $10/month lol.Powerlifting Log - http://tinyurl.com/jshaw5

Yeah that sucks. It's gonna suck when it gets really cold and starts snowing and my platform is out of service for a few months in the winter haha. Just to let you know, No Limit doesn't have a full set of bumpers, they just have one pair of 45's. They do have a few pairs of the old school York bumpers, but I wouldn't want to drop those from overhead.
