If you gag when you try to consume cottage cheese, just don't eat cottage cheese!!!

After all, why in the world would you want to eat a food that you react so badly to?

^ Cottage cheese offers no magical benefit. Just eat something that you enjoy and that fits into your daily nutritional goals.

Cottage cheese is not usually nice on its own. People on these boards usually mix flavoured whey, peanut butter etc.

If you still can't stick to it, don't buy it anymore.

1 packet of splenda is all I need and actually converts cottage cheese into very good tasting IMO. You can also add cinnamon to make it even better. or some chocolate whey

Greek Yogurt has a VERY similar macronutrient profile, with the added probiotic benefit.

And it tastes a thousand times better.

    quarter cup of each

Only significant difference here is cost...I'm guestimating this, but it's probably something like cottage cheese at $0.50/serving vs Greek yogurt at $2.00/serving

If you're not going to answer my question, why bother responding to my question? The original post was about what the kid can add to his cottage cheese to make it taste better. And of course BlunderPug comes on to "enlighten" us all on why we shouldn't eat cottage cheese if we don't want to... followed by the usual unoriginal parrots like yourself.

Do you think someone is putting a gun to the kid's head and forcing him to eat cottage cheese? Not likely. He just wants to. And he wants to know how to make it taste better. Who the fuk are ANY OF YOU to tell him what to do, and to even give out nutritional advice in the first place?!?!

Im the "oomighty one"? You better check yourself bro. You're the one trying to save the kid's life, lest he befoul himself with cottage cheese!

that's a bit of an overestimate. 4 cups of cc at the grocery here is $3-4, while the greek yogurt (name brand) is $5-6. SO worth it IMO.

^^ and in my experience, greek yogurt is one of the few things that necessitates buying the pricier brands.

Im the "oomighty one"? You better check yourself bro. You're the one trying to save the kid's life, lest he befoul himself with cottage cheese!
A 16 year old poster is indicating the he is "having a gag reflex because of the texture" of cottage cheese, yet you object to advice that he abstain from consuming cottage cheese given his reaction to the food.

That's downright pathetic and you really should be ashamed of yourself.

mix it in a 1:1 ratio with nonfat low sugar yogurt (i like yoplait lite and dannon light and fit)in whatever flavor you like. it just ends up tasting like the yogurt, and is quite voluminous.

Example: Drink 1/2 cup of gravy = gag

1/2 gravy on steak = Very enjoyable

Op real question was "what do you guys use to mix cottage cheese?"

I don't know why we should argue over this...

My mom came up with this idea to help increase the protein in scrambled eggs. She puts eggs and cottage cheese in the blender and blends it down and then scrambles it. Actually makes really fluffy eggs and gives them a slightly different flavor..

my go to mix in is berries or some kind of fruit. i have tried tuna because i have heard ppl say it tastes good but personally did not like it whatsoever.

i have come to find out that different brands of cottage cheese taste different. the best tasting in my opinion and the only one that I could eat all day is Knudsen Lowfat Cottage Cheese. I found mine at Costco. Everything else tastes pretty bad.
