I have been reading about steroids recently, how ever i am confused at the use of Insulin. i know that insulin makes your cells turn glucose into glycogen but is this all it does, and why does it benefit body builders?

Insulin allows for amino acids and glucose to be pushed into muscle cells, greatly stimulating muscle protein synthesis at higher doses. It may also increase testosterone production by increasing LH and FSH. There's also some other synergistic stuff with IGF and GH. All in all, insulin is a very anabolic hormone.
On the flipside, it's also one of the most dangerous substances to use. Improper dosage can literally kill you. Since controlled substance discussion is not permitted on these boards, I won't talk about dosages or anything related to purchasing that stuff.أشهد أن لا إله إلاَّ الله Ùˆ أشهد أن Ù…Øمد رسول الله

since you can buy slin and don't even need a prescription I think we are okay to discuss. Yes...you can literally walk into a pharmacy even in america and buy it. That being said there are a few important points....
-It can be very dangerous you would really need to do a lot a lot a lot of reserach on the subject
-I'm not one to judge but damn at 16 that is pretty be young to even thinking about all this stuff. Most people consider insulin like the "final frontier" in their performance enhancing.
-Sort of to the point above most people recommend use for VERY experienced steroid users. The best benefit is when used with steorids, growth and igf1.
-and to that point above you can put on crazy amounts of fat if you are not careful and you slin.

Basically, don't use insulin. Just don't. Hell I wouldn't touch steroids unless I had some professional reason to do so. Too many people I feel get into steroids because they are addicted to the feeling of growth/lifting heavier weights and/or have lost perspective of their size and want to get bigger to meet some arbitrary image from muscle magazine covers. I wouldn't tell you that you can't but seriously question why you want or need steroids. Steroids(and other controlled substances) are where bodybuilding can get complex and dangerous. But as stated, insulin is a last resort even among heavy users.

MakeABanana got the general idea of it down. Insulin itself does NOT convert glucose into glycogen; insulin is a peptide hormone that binds to the cell surface when blood glucose levels rise, it acts a signaling receptor, thus increasing glucose uptake into the cell and decreasing blood concentrations. This is is why bodybuilders want to upregulate insulin after working out so as to "shuttle" glucose and aminos into cells.
It should be noted, as others have said, this comes with MANY risks: hyperinsulinemia, excess visceral fat development, hypoglycemia, liver/pancreas dysfunctions, etc.Team HALEO™ Rep
