Has anyone experienced any weight gain they feel can be attributed, in any part, to similar heartburn meds?

I took prolosec for reflux for a couple of years and gained a fair amount of weight. Not sure if it was because of the drug or the fact I could eat anything without heartburn. There is not a lot of research about the natural flora of the stomach but I am firmly in the camp of people who believe a PPI is not something you want to be on long term. It took awhile but I was able to completely cure my reflux with weight loss and a daily pro-biotic.

Yes, I have been on them since 2005 and saw gains ever since with the inability to lose weight while on them. For short periods when I was taking one every few days I was able to drop some weight but always landed back on them.
I have found a new solution to the heartburn that appears to be working though.☆ ☆ ☆ Personal Log ☆ ☆ ☆

I can completely relate. When I first started losing weight I swore they were stopping my weight loss as well. Looking back I am not sure if I was just impatient or there was really something to it. In either case getting off them was great for me. What are you using now to control it?

Apple cider vinegar. I am only 6 days and 5 nights into it so I am hesitant to call it a fix but I had my first Tums free night last night. In the past, even on PPI's, I had to always take Tums. First Tums free night in years actually.
