    Sledding...

I took my 5yo son out sledding in the little rural town I grew up in. Standing at the top of the hill I felt like I was a kid again, like it was 30 years ago. Nothing had changed there. Despite all the tumult in the world & kids plopped in front of computers - I guess (to coin a phrase) some things never change.
It was my son's 1st day Snow-boarding, lots of falls!

Ha ha! Love moments like that! We've not had any snow to speak of around here yet, but am hoping for some!

Last year was quite the unusual extreme, we had 12 inches in one snowfall. Unheard of around here. Normally we'll get an inch or two over the course of the Winter. In North Texas we're just a bit south of that normal 'snow-line.' We're much more likely to get ice storms.

It's so strange revisiting places that still exist from your youth. At my 20 (sob) year high school reunion I got to go inside my old school and it felt beyond strange being in there again.
There will come a day when I tire of listening to 80's music. That day is not today.

OMG, the last pic especially hit home! Dug out those "forts" dozens and dozens of times when I was a kid! Very cool, and thanks for sharing

Also, on a sober note: where I grew up, corner-snow-plow heaps like that can be deadly, as kids play in them and another city plow comes along and "buries" them while they're playing. Quite serious here...as it happened in my area in N. Boston, so caution your kids!

Whats with all that white stuff in your front yard and why are those kids all bundled up. No shorts, no flip flops, where do you live, Alaska?

I was freezing here today, had to wear my windbreaker on the way to the car. Dipped down into the 50's, brrrr, old jack frost was nipping at my nose.

yeah, I actually didnt think about that til now

luckily thier was no snow on the road to push when we built it

When I was growing up we lived in a little town of 250 and it was on the edge of nowhere

so we would go down gravel roads and build epic forts in the ditches from all the blowing snow
