Strange popping, cracking in my shoulder

I've been ignoring a shoulder problem for the last 4 months in hope that it would get better but it's affecting my workouts.

When I rotate my left shoulder backwards its ok, but when I rotate it forwards it pops like its not in its socket properly. This is not painful but I don't like making it pop because I feel like it can't be making it better.

The real problem is when I stretch my arm behind my head, it's like a little mini dislocation and I have to roll my shoulder back and forward to get it to a point where there is no pain.

I want to work out at full strength knowing that I don't have to worry about my shoulder when raising my arms above my head.

I don't want to go to a doctor just yet as I can imagine he would say something like don't raise your arms above your head then and make look like an idiot.

Any ideas on what I could do to make my shoulder better would be appreciated.

I have the same thing going on, started recently actually, but mine only pops out when I'm doing reverse flys... Also woke up this morning with some pain and abnormal feelings in my shoulder/funny noises and popping in and out feeling when I stretch it.
Go hard or go home, and I aint even got my house keys!!!
