BTW 265x8 on bench is pretty impressive as well. and glad to see the Press has made its way back to your routine.

Power Shock B2G1 for a limited time only!
http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/vpx/power-shock.html
Hey guys, pretty bad outcome last night, went into the workout 72 hrs after my 370x6 squat and i felt real good probably 85% ish and only minimal DOMS in the hamstrings, but nothing too bad. I stretched and foam rolled and got right into it. 135x1 boom, 225x1 boom straight up, 315, easy, 405x1 easy but at the end of this lift i felt a mild tightness in the left hamstring, i felt this pain to this degree very mild at the end of my squat rep out last week but thought nothing of it.. then i stretched some more and loaded heat gel on it and felt better, then loaded 495x1, pretty quick and smooth which was pleasing, ..but the pain in left hamstring became greater with sharpness adding to the tightness and couldnt get it right. I was being arrogant and loaded 600x1., Prior to initiating the pull i was wondering whether my hamstring would rip or stay intact and couldnt get the mind set right and as a result i got it moving but had no drive to get it more than 2'' off the ground. As i let go of the bar the leg was now very painful i couldnt bend it without sharp pain and was hobbling out of the gym in shame.. That night there was light bruising around the upper hamstring and i iced for next 12 hrs, and then applied heat today and some light pullthroughs. I have full ROM of the muscle but damn lucky it wasnt a severe tear.. No doubt i had 600+ tonight fresh but when one of the main muscles has been strained its just too hard to get full power for the 1RM attempt. I understand that and am feeling better tonight, still sore so might take it easy next couple days. But training is going well, and the processes are working well so nothing to worry about, ill nail 605 for good measure next time.
Tough break ILO. Rest up that hammy, and you'll smash 600 in no time. I'm wondering the same as 4G though, that seems like a huge jump from the last warmup to the max attempt. Not that I'm an expert on max attempts, but I would've thought something in the 525-540 range would've been better for the last warmup single.
Appreciate all the support, thanks guys and its been 48 hr of intense recovery and icing and BCAAs etc which has made remarkable difference to what it felt the other night. Woke up much better and very little tightness. Not 100% but enough to try and get some light blood flow in the area again. Still small bruise but has gone down to nearly nothing. Hit some nice workout tonight with lighter weight but will write it up soon.

Thanks Jugs, feeling better already after 2 full days recovery so nothing serious to what it felt like at the time.

Thanks my man, and your right i didnt even think of that last jump, i was just throwing on a plate at a time then came to the last set i through on 6 and change but probably too much of a jump. Those damn squats made the hamstring not 100% ready to pull maximally and i guess i knew it at the time but didnt want to believe it.. Yeh good mornings and low body is coming along nicely., pressing is back 1x week on 5/3/1 and ill be adding lighter pressing workouts in the AM from next week on, along with some light paused squats in the AM.

Thanks big A, lucky all my good mornings and pullthroughs over the last year have made my low body pretty bullet proof so no serious damage was done. Slight pull i believe but still felt bad at the time.

Thanks for saying so man, your words of wisdom was going through my mind at the time, and you mentioned something like when your ready to next time go for it' or something like that and i was 85% i felt. Had i listened to you i would have waited another 24hrs and right now we'd be celebrating a big pull PR. Fine line sometimes.

Tough break, you will get it soon enough.
Ur right mate, certainly was a painful feeling at the time but nothing overly bad at all to what it could have been. Will have to listen to my body better next time when sore.

Your right, way to big of a jump for the last one. In future im thinking 540 is too then blasting.
But at least out of all this, my mind knows what 600 feels like.

NOTES--After good couple days off with intense recovery measures, i felt somewhat better today and minimal pain in the hamstring which was a nice relief this morning., Adding in couple AM sessions (in addition to normal workouts) involving paused squats/OHP and thats all., at low reps and at 70-80% on workout days. Just going to get the body to work more and earn some big numbers by working more and increasing my base and tolerance gradually. These AM sessions wont be more than 25mins but will get in some good work into the body and will skyrocket my OHP and squats more so. But will see how i respond. Hamstring was feeling solid and tested the water with some light paused squats for doubles. Felt fine luckily, now we push forward and train optimally while smashing prs.

Nicely done ILO. How difficult was the paused benching?

FOr sure ILO ^^^ but I know that feeling of trying to push through it because I've done it, and it usually doesn't pay off.
Your right, and its so hard to for me to take a step back sometimes. So glad it wasnt serious pull or tear. Id only have myself to blame if it did

Thanks big man, 199!?? solid unit now.
Easy, benching is feeling real light under 275. Probably had 8-10 paused if i had too

I really think you should reconsider your good mornings. Doing over 3 plates when your squat is 420 just doesn't seem like a good idea... almost like it could lead to hamstring problems...

Thanks man ill be 100% soon enough!
I usually train good mornings 4x6 @70% and once every 2 months ill break a 3-4 rep pr. The big 335 set on GMs actually left me feeling strong and bullet proof afterwards but wouldnt do it too often. Only reason i put it down to was the 370x6 squat left me with a tiny strain but then went to max out on deads 3 days later while only being 85%.
