Either whey or a blend will do you fine. Usually whey protein isolate is the preferred over concentrate to eliminate other macros. Blend of whey/casein are fine too, like you get in mixes such as Myofusion. Mostly it boils down to taste, and if that's of concern, XF UP 2.0 has lots of love from the community.

    I KNOW...
EXTRA CALORIES REQUIRES EXTRA $ EXPENSE.
THE POINT IS, YOU CAN BUY YOUR CALORIES IN FOOD FORM, CHEAPER AND MORE NUTRITIOUS FOR YOU, THAN FROM YOUR WEIGHT GAINER.

THEREFORE, YOUR WEIGHT GAINER IS NOT A GOOD VALUE!!!

the only thing your weight gainer provides you with is convenience, as it is easy to make on the go.
if convenience is a priority for you, then it may become a better "value" for your individual purpose.

but, to everyone else who looks at "value" as "bang for your buck" (like most ppl)..
    it is not. period.
I never said it was more "nutritious" than food. The argument was that it works. That is bang for your buck when you buy a product and it works especially when you are only taking half the serving size a day. It is not NECESSARY to take to gain weight but it is a valid option. Food costs money too, and for some people who have a hard time gaining weight, the weight gainer is a good value. I had a hard time gaining weight, because no matter what I just couldnt get enough calories, so the weight gainer put me over. IT ISNT NECESSARY FOR EVERYONE BUT IS A GOOD OPTION FOR SOMEONE WHO HAS A HARD TIME PUTTING ON POUNDS.

    good.
The argument was that it works.
no, that was not the argument.
of course it works. consume excess cals and you will gain weight.
    this is not rocket science.
That is bang for your buck when you buy a product and it works especially when you are only taking half the serving size a day.
you continue to be clueless on the term "bang for buck".
It is not NECESSARY to take to gain weight but it is one option.
    fixed, and agreed.

    no.

that is lack of know-how on your part, not anything magical about the weight gainer.
    IT ISNT NECESSARY FOR ANYONE
