Am I the only one blown away by this phenomenon nonsense? They seem to be gaining in popularity because all over the web I see games that require you to buy these "coins" to play the game or at least be able to play them and achieve high scores against your so called friends list. I don't play a lot of these games but I do like to pass idle time once in awhile playing puzzle games, things like bejeweled or tetris. I played a slot machine game on ******** once and after the free spins they give you were up it asked me if I wanted to buy more coins to keep playing. Basically this game offers you the chance to give them REAL money and in return they give you back FAKE money?! These types of things are all over the place any more. I mean really? People are actually buying fake money with real money?

Some employers are now requesting your face book and twitter account names as a part of the application. A friend's wife is job hunting and keeps getting asked for her face book account. When she says she does not have a face book account, the employers looks at her like she said she just took a dump on the floor.
As a non-******** person, I find this hilarious.

I find the whole "cyber money" thing quite ridiculous....you can buy gift cards at Walmart and other sores with REAL MONEY to use for VIRTUAL purchases. I used to play with youville on ********, and I could not believe the money people would spend on their virtual homes....it's pretty sad.
I too no longer play ******** games. They were neat a first, but over time ecame real time suckers.

1- these games make money because people are ****in stupid.
2- there are privacy settings you can apply to your ******** account to prevent snoopy employers from looking at your stuff.
its not real hard for someone to simply search your name so you have to take matters into your own hands."To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda

Ya the slot machine one really blew me away. I mean here is a game that is based on gambling, asking you to invest real money in order to gamble and then is made very clear that any winnings you may earn through the game only apply to more "coins" and have no monetary value lol. Gamble with real money in order to win fake money lmao. Is it not like giving some one a hundred bucks of real American money, then they give you back a hundred bucks in monopoly money?!

I played WOW for a many many years. I was just about to hang it up when they introduced the "ARENA" where you could put together teams and do battle then I got sucked back into it for another few years lol. My favorite toon was a Holy Paladin, man those guys are unstoppable in the arena.

My main was a pally when they were introduced horde side. I was a heavy raider and the main healer for our guild. I got addicted to it and gained a ton of weight. The pics in my profile of me at 300 lbs are from my wow days. Glad I finally broke the habit.
I was so bad the account I sold was an alt acct. I had played wow since beta...

Ya there were technically better healers in the game but Holy Paladins may not throw the biggest heals all the time, they were almost always the last healers standing! At least I was, many a times during raids I would be the last person alive and finish off a boss. Or be able to finish off the bosses with just me and a tank. Haha listen to us, what a bunch of nerds lol.
