I go after odd ball cars. The 70 cuda is the first real muscle car I've dealt with. My "specialty" is what we call "forward look" cars. Runs from 55-61 mopars. In particular for me, 57-61. I hate paint/body, ideally, a car that has had that done with a busted driveline. Paint/body generally ads 10-15k to the cost of the build, plus time, regardless of car. Each car is done so it can be driven. Almost all of these cars get 20mpg+. After the 58 chrysler is done, we're going to shove a 360 into this:

This car because the story behind it is great. In 1950, the nash had seats that could fold down to make a bed. A lot of parents to posters on this board were conceived in one of these. Lot of impressive technology and innovation for the time were put into this car. This car has actually been stripped and is in primer and with no driveline now. It will be painted a candy red and silver combo.
    I used to own things.

I get banned a lot for telling the truth.

Hey Mike I have a 69 Cougar with a 351 Windsor, do you have any connections with built engines/parts? Its got some cancer in the intake manifold and things like the brakes are rusted. Want to do a restore/trackable build.

What part of the brakes are rusted? Calis? Or cali pistons?
Is the IM cast? You can probably make your own patches for it if you have a welder, some minor skills, and don't give a shyt what it looks like.

The entire brake assembly as far as I remember. Its in storage. I'd rather just get a new manifold but if I am building the engine, then I want everything bulletproof.

If the lines are toast and you don't wanna make them yourself or make -AN lines, call up Classic Tube. They MAY make premade lines for your car for a good price, but shipping might suck, especially if you're far out of NY. For the calipers and other shyt, just check and see if your local Napa stocks it; all likelihood, they have it but probably at a different store if you're not in a big city. If not, I know Rock Auto stocks a lot of the stuff. IDK if I would trust used stuff from forums though unless it's a full disc swap conversion from a good aftermarket company like Baer, Wilwood (their calis are kinda small and their pads SUCK; fortunately most good companies make replacement pads for their calis), Brembo, etc. But unless you want a serious performance system, OEM replacements are good enough.

Every site I've looked at says its the best one on the market. Plus most of my driving is at night where I can't see whats up ahead on the side. I've had a lot of close calls recently.

I have, but then it turned into just getting a built motor. Getting this thing running was probably the most satisfying thing I have ever done...more than anything in education or sports. I had to replace the starter 3 times, replace the spark plugs, fix the dist, fix the carb, degrease and lube the cylinders, get it to turn over (biggest pain in the butt), then get it running again. Nothing like sitting in a car that you got from a giant brick to something with enough torque to shake it off the stands. My wrx is torquey, but not 380ft/lbs.

Ill check it out. The dilemma is restore/make close to stock or build a track monster. Restore=sell and let someone else deal with the body cancer, track = roots sc, built block, tranny, suspension, brakes, seats, harnesses, etc.

If tracking, I would be more worried about getting the thing in driveable shape before thinking about building the block, let alone boosting. But it obviously depends on your budget. Figure how much you need, then double it. That's probably a good number. So far I'm like 15-16k into my car and there's really nothing to show for it atm; just a stripped shell on stands and a stack of parts. I wasn't expecting to spend no where near this much, obviously.
OEM replacement brake shyts are usually cheapish so, if you know how to turn a wrench, replacing brake lines is relatively simple provided there's not 50 million bends in the lines if buying premade replacements. I recently had this issue with a friend of mine so I told him I wasn't fukking around with hardline and instructed him to buy Earls Speed Flex line and fittings and I made him some -AN brake lines. That might be an inspection issue though with your state; I'm licensed in a state where there are no inspections, so anything goes, hell even open header is "allowable" lol. If buying the 5ft sections of straight hardline you get from Napa or where ever and bending them yourself, that will look kinda ghetto seeing a double female union every 5ft, but still has the reliability and DOT compliance of direct OEM replacement hardline. As for the clappers, drums, and stuff, that's your call.

Oh yeah, track ready would be a huge depreciating investment. I'm thinking that unless I get a huge windfall somehow, I'll just sell it and use the money towards school.

I think I only need about 2k more to get my shyt functional, but it's built for track use. And track as in turns, not that gay driving straight shyt.

I think I'll start posting my SH links for those of you with nothing better to do:

You seen the new NSX in the Super GT 500 series? Shyt is badass and it has KERS:

Also the 2nd gen NSX set to be built in '15; hopefully honduh doesn't cancel its production like they did w/ the most recent NSX debacle. I think this new one is suppose to have 6cyl now instead of the planned V10 they had in the recent scrapped shyt.

good to see love and appreciation for the American cars in here. Except for the mustang stuff (so overdone in the drag racing world, and half the guys who own are pure douches. too each their own though lol)...haha Rodzilla, my buddy just put a YSi on his tired 302, stock otherwise, makes 320 to the tire, and runs 12 flat (89 notch, T5, 8.8 with 4.10's on ET streets Bias plys)

McCandless, my brother and pops are both huge mopar guys. You ever been to Moparfest in Ontario? we go every summer!!
They had the seminar with the old super stock Mopar racers there this year. Are you related to Herb????

I'm a Pontiac guy. I own a 72 Lemans GT with the GTO style front end. Still building it into a street/strip terror
    My brother owns a 71 Plymouth Scamp 360 on spray, dana 60, A833 w/ a verti-gate, and my Dad a 69 Dart 440, 727, 4.89's, full cage, etc.

Why in the world would anyone with a stock 302 put a YSi on it? I could maybe see an S-Trim but the YSi is a huge blower, especially for a stock 302.
