Great expo and show Tony. Every year gets better and better and it's well worth the trip.
Considering the first "expo" was just a few stalls outside the hall it's grown into an Aussie Arnold. The pro qualifier has become huge and is just as entertaining as the pro show. Good work yet again and hope to be there next year.
I contribute to your renown if you contribute to mine

This Max's TV segment where Luke Wood is on what you described as an arc back machine. Is the machine still at Brunswick? I looked for it but didn't find it. Was the machine any good to hit the outer/upper lat to get a wider back?
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone that supported FitX this year. It was by far the most satisfying event that I have ever promoted.
To the athletes that competed in all the different events, from novice to pros, thanks. You are all champions in my eyes and I have respect for everyone of you that fought your own battles to make it on stage. It is a long and sometimes lonely path to take. Well done, enjoy your next journey, see what you need to improve and just work on beating yourself. It is a path of self improvement, nothing else.
To the judges and officials that gave up your time to help, thank you. Some of you traveled across the country to contribute, so take a bow.
To the exhibitors and sponsors that backed me, thank you. Some of you have been with me for a very long time. I hope we exceeded your expectations again. We will keep improving every year to make this the highlight of your promotional calendar.
The bodybuilding media that supported our events, thank you. The RX team of Dave, Aaron and PJ, Flex with Mike Salazar and crew and MD with Shawn Ray. Locally, Blitz, Flex, M&F, Musclemag and Oxygen. You were all an incredible support and generous with your commentary.
The volunteers and helpers who freely gave up their time to drive, cook, tan, administer and load, thanks to each one of you.
The crew, my staff, inner circle and family that worked long and hard without ever complaining, you know who you are. I am forever grateful.
You, the fans, that traveled form every corner of Australia and beyond. Your support is incredible. What you probably don't realise, is how much your encouragement means. The emails, PMs and messages are sometimes the most rewarding part of it all. Some of you save up all year for your flights, hotels and tickets. You may think we don't notice but we do. I enjoyed meeting everyone of you. Whether it was a photo or a handshake, you make me smile, inside and out.
We have already started working on next year, I can tell you one thing. It will be bigger and better again. We will leave no stone unturned, to deliver a world class event to you all.
There were a couple of times at the weekend that I was overwhelmed by it all. To see how far it has come is just indescribable. However I know one thing for sure. It would not be what it is without out every group that I have mentioned.
25 years ago (1988) I promoted my first IFBB amateur show. Brian Buchanan was the guest poser. Since then I have brought just about ever pro to Australia and have promoted the Australian Pro for the last 13 years. Have had every Mr Olympia here since Haney and promoted around 100 contests. There have been plenty of highs and lows but overall it has been a great trip. Paul Graham gave me a chance when I was only 23, so thanks to him for believing in me all that time ago.
Happy to answer any questions and maybe tell a few stories.
Thanks to all of the athletes, fans and sponsors that have supported.
To everyone that I have met from the forums along the way thanks for your support.
G'day Tony, really glad to hear about the new series of Max's Muscle TV kicking off ... I've caught a couple of episodes by accident & part way through and want to know if there's any set day & time they're on aurora ?
Does this latest series (or have any previous series) have anything re 'carb backloading' ? really interested to hear thoughts / experiences on it from yourself or any of the MMTV regulars ...

Hi from QLD Tony!
hope all is well mate. looking forward to seeing a Dohertys up north sometime!
What are your thoughts on the Mens Physique catergory, here in Australia? do you think it'll blow up like it has in the states?
i only ask as ive recently changed my goals from bodybuilding competition to mens physique, it just seems to fit my goals more. I enjoy a lot of indoor and outdoor sports/activities and look to competing in those areas also.

Hey Paully. Yes I think will get very big. It is a good achievable entry level division that can appeal to the masses. As a bodybuilder, I am not a big fan but as a promoter, I love it.

Awesome, im looking forward to be a huge part of that division here in oz.
When I started it was all about competing in bodybuilding but then I noticed the specific training and mass i had created took away from my agility, speed and flexibility. I struggled playing touch footy, rock climbing and martial arts.

It's probably what I should be competing in too but until they get rid of the board shorts and the bring in some stronger poses I'm sticking to bb'ing.
