I read TJM a little over a year ago and remember it being a lot of higher reps and what not.
That's why I've enjoyed the change to the cube method. It's been a lot more volume than I'm accustomed to, and a new lift almost every training session. I'm having a lot of fun, thinking very little, and making progress from what I can tell.

Yep. I think he should have waited on the book, because it's basically still evolving quite a bit, as you can see from whats on ********.
I like the idea of "if you're feeling good, work up".
Since you saw that video, I was going to reccommend you maybe swap out the floor presses with the 2" pause benches he was doing. That'd let you have a variation so you aren't just flat benching each week.

I'd say that's honestly the best strategy when you're paying for programming.
And in alot of cases, it's best to not do a lot of reading unless you have a bull**** filter. Reading the book of methods is probably the worst thing a newer lifter could do. Pretty much everything you read hates on other programs, though. Just confuses people.

I literally just did the exact same workout; 275 x 3 x 5 with the GM and 50lb db lunges followed up with the 50 squats lol. I didn't rerack at all but it took me about 4:40 to do all 50 after all of the other work we did before the 50 reps. My hands started to fall asleep too lol **** had me on the floor for about 5mins after i racked...

Blew my mind seeing both of your avatars one after the other, fuark lol. But yes 50 reps with 135 on no rest high bar and shoulder width stance as well, didn't bring my belt and after awhile my hands fell asleep and my back just about split in half. My legs didn't feel too bad to be honest though lol idk how brandon fared during it.

Week 3 Day 4 Overhead and Weak Points
Glutes, hams, and quads are all trashed from yesterday. Very sore and tight. Left wrist has been bothering me since Tuesday or so. Keeping it wrapped up.
Warmup
foam rolling
light prowler pushes
pvc rolling during overhead sets
Seated Military
45x10
65x10
85x10 for 3 sets
95x5
105x3
SSB Calf Raises
light weight. 100 reps
Illegal Wides
135x10 pointer just outside rings
155x8 thumb length outside of rings
155x10
Fat Boy Rows with Light Bands
Wasn't really a lot of tension just wanted to practice keeping lats tight for bench
4 sets of 12
EZ Bar Curls
4 sets of 15 with 55 pounds.
DB Pec Flies
3 sets of 12 w/ 15 pound DBs.
All of these new movements are humbling. Never did much stuff like this.
Nice workout. Right around an hour. Finished up by pushing the prowler + 90 pounds for one song.

I used to agree with that. But
1. I have a hard time not cheating when I'm standing. I automatically start throwing leg drive in when it's too heavy
2. I'm military pressing every single week, so I'm trying to find ways to change the movement up a bit.
It is lame though.
Trying my best. I'm starting to feel more solid in the bottom. So hopefully I can find my sweet spot soon.
Dat dere xmas present. And VT sucks, so i'd rather represent the cavs

Lets just say I pulled the bedroom door shut to give myself a warning system...
I actually forgot about that reason.
The way my basement is (unfinished ceiling) I can still do standing as long as I line it up right. It'll fit between the boards.
But if you line up wrong, you're in for it. Push pressing weight into a 4x6 isn't fun
