Is there a slight natural imbalance?

Im new to lifting, and I squatted for the first real time and I'm wondering why my spine feels compressed when I squat in my lower back. It doesn't hurt but it doesn't feel quite right. I usually just hang from the pullup bar on the rack, and I feel better. Is it because my lower back isnt quite strong enough?

lower the weight? use better form? I don't know what "compressed" means to you exactly, you should definitely feel something pushing down on you if there's weight on your back. lol

Its after the squat. Im not in pain but it feels like someone pushed my spine down. Its not painful, and it goes away after I hang from something (i assume this is stretching the spine back out)

Try using a lifting belt while you squat and squat with good form.
