strength = predominantly training in the 1 - 3 rep ranges with the goal of using your whole body to shift a weight for your 1rm.

    bodybuilding = everything else.

    bodybuilding is aesthetics..

strength training is getting as big and strong as possible.and not caring about aesthetics.. which is y almost all the powerlifters that compelte in strongman competitions etc. are fat looking. very big looking like they can beat the sht out of me.. wouldnt fk with them. but they look fat to females and unaesthetic...

Lol I was running my own version before he published that.

Always start my session with squats + another compound for 5x5, followed by a couple of accessory lifts for 8-12 reps.

Well I guess the difference is simply one training for strength gain through compound / performance based training while the other focuses on appearance over everything else, although compound exercises are necessary for the sake of building to that predetermined size and shape / bodybuilding. So while bodybuilding increases strength, it places appearance over strength and while strength training builds muscle, it places strength performance over appearance.

Bodybuilding is the SHAPING of the body. Balancing out your upper and lower chest. Getting your lower abs to pop out more. Creating a better bicep peak. Getting a wider lat spread. ect...

Oh I forgot to mention that bodybuilding is about building the muscle to a predetermined size and shape WHILE achieving a low body fat. While strength training burns fat, it may not have a predetermined objective on body fat percentage.

Lol'd at building strength is ego but not aesthetics as well.

The only reason to lift for aesthetics is because of insecurities. Because you want to look good. How is that not egotistical in anyway?

Everything we do has the ego involved. I agree though, there is no reason why you shouldn't shoot for both, even if you're a natural.

Personally, aesthetics wise I will not settle for anything less than this:

Should easily be achievable, hell I may even achieve it this summer. Seems like a modest goal to many, but honestly, a body like that would appeal to 90% of the women out there (or are we going to start pretending that lifting for aesthetics does not mean also lifting to appeal to women? if so, GTFO)

For me, after that it'd all be about maintain that leanness while building strength, speed and fitness. Any muscle I build after that would be a bonus. But really, past my goal any further muscle I care about adding on is just a result of bigorexia.

Wow, Mark Wahlberg looks just right in there, just right, perfect I would say. No doubt that's a goal for most men rather than all that bulky bodybuilder physique. And indeed most women will want that body. What was his workout like? Definitely a healthy objective.

Have you seen him in date night? He looks like ****.

Strength doesnt necessarily mean fat... The number of lightweights break new records is ridiculous.
Imo alot of body builders dont care for strength simply because its not a necessity to sculpt your body, but doing heavy compounds is beneficial in so many ways especially 1hr health if your CNS

You can/will look great on a strenght routine if you watch your diet.

You can get strong on a bodybuilding routine but it will happen very slowly and you will never surpass powerlifters.

It's all about personal preferences. I enjoy getting stronger a lot more then just improving my physique... so to each their own.

strength training is about moving as much weight from point A to point B. bodybuilding is about making your muscles work as hard as possible going from point A to point B and back to A

Bodybuilding: More mind muscle connection and concentrating on contractions in bodybuilding. More to do with just building an aesthetic physique. (not saying its not possible on a strength routine, but i haven't found it as efficient)

Strength: Smash sets hard, focus on lifting as much as possible with right form.

Imo i prefer bodybuilding, which i've only recently started - due to the fact that you carry your physique with you everywhere, little to no one cares how much you can bench or squat.
