Gym looks awesome, and that must be a great feeling with your son starting to go with you. I can't wait until my girls are old enough to start lifting with dad. So far they are only 9 and 6. The youngest is thick and strong!!! She can take my 9 year old with no problem, it is so funny since they started wrestling at home in the floor.
My business had it's annual christmas party this last weds. and I had a good friend smoke me 3 Boston butts, he won the overall 2nd place for brisket this year in the south in BBQ competitions, he is that good. I ate the last of it today, kind of sad to see the container empty!!LOL!!! I need to start grilling like you and perfect my grilling skills.
Hope your injury is getting better, keep the stubborness in check. My wife always jumps my case when I move up in weight, she hates when I pull or injure myself.

Final Friday of the year !!!!
Thanks !
Christmas was really nice....lot of travelling involved to see most of my family but it was certainly worth the effort.
I hope your Christmas was great.
I'm really looking forward to the new year ahead. Starting off with no serious injuries or known roadblocks, a new gym that's real close and, as you noted, a new part-time workout buddy. My son is really enthused about it.

Decent lunchtime session.
Fast paced & simply did what left elbow would allow. It's in the begining stages of flaring up...outer elbow. Listened to it during tonight's session. Backed off tricep specific moves. Took a pair of Aleve with my post w/o shake. It'll get a break on tommorrow night's shoulder session and then a rest day on New Year's Eve cardio session.

Saturday
Easing back into things.
Had to avoid gym and everything else fun these past two weeks. Knee problems made it difficult to do my job. Very difficult. Work has to take priority in times like that. 13hr shifts and rest/elevate/ice knee. Meds. Fluid is still around it but the amount is much less.

As I follow your progress I continue to be impressed with your tenacity and motivation in spite or your health challenges. Take care man.
I'm open to any suggestions and have a difficult time accepting limitations without an honest effort on my part, you can count on that!

Sunday
Thank you.
It's hard sometimes....discerning real injuries from the normal stuff I deal with.....I'm learning, though.
Certain movements, such as BB Bench Press really create havoc with my shoulders. I've got to make some adjustments. The key for me is not damaging things in the process of moving forward.

Don't say fourth down and punt. Reminds me there will be no real games until August (unless I count the spring game, which if I pretend really hard and shut one eye I can make it about 10% of a game. )
Sorry you're having some physical issues to deal with, but your workouts are looking great!"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." 2 Timothy 1:7

That was a surprise to us too -- and yes the crowd certainly was into it. We were there too! Y'all did very well for most of the season. I thought you seemed a better than us, but you know how that game goes. It seems to be a nailbiter most of the time.
Hope all is well with you too!"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." 2 Timothy 1:7

Thanks, man.
Steady and cautious is how I'm planning on proceeding. I can not afford time out of life right now for shoulder repairs. You will laugh at the weight I'm going to be using on chest days. Simply going to crank up the reps.
Fluid in knee is back to it's normal amount. Cardio resuming okay, too. That damned elliptical machine is my nemesis.
Lol. You'd be laughing yer superfine butt off at me right now....been hobbling around like Fred Sandford from Sandford and Son. Hell, I think I'll rename my right knee Lamont......left knee Ester. While I'm at it, I'm naming my right shoulder Sumanabitch !!!!! Enough of my whining. I gotta kick a wheel and get moving. The day is still young.
I'm glad you mentioned coffee. I made a pot before getting ready for work today. I'm getting low. I need to swing by Dunkin and get a couple bags. I wanta be well caffinated and wide awake for when that VS order arrives and the pics are posted for the DSC to review.
Have a great weekend !!!!

Yup. I'm back.
Sort like starting over, though. Gonna be working with the pink & baby blue weights for a while.
It's been a crazy long summer.
Been dealing with a ton of stuff involving my son. We had to remove him from school near the end of last year and get him some professional medical help. Got him back home and continuing with the treatment. He is responding to everything really well. School is now back in session and his first week is starting well. My fingers are crossed.
His mother's side of the family is riddled with depression and anxiety. Very high levels of it. It's something that I truly didn't appreciate the severity of such until it came home to roost in my house.....with my wife. She's been battling such for a decade or so. The stuff is real and scary........at times it's real damn scary, too.
It appears that he wasn't able to escape the "family curse". Poor fella. He tried to keep things under wraps and hidden for 6+ months but then signs of severe anxiety began emerging. I'm so grateful for the medical resources available to us and the way that everyone we have been dealing with has assisted. Small miracles occurred along the way these past few months. It got really bad at the end of last school year.........I'd never have believed then......that we'd be where we are now.......making great progress and showing stability.
We are all relieved.....hell, even the family dogs seem to be chilling out more now.
I was blessed that my employer allowed spur of the moment vacation requests, flexed my work hours and now has extra overtime opportunities for me work. The extra funds are going a long way towards knocking down the medical bills that were generated from this.
I'm grateful.
One of the benchmark "rewards" we had for him was a trip to visit his best fiend....a friend who'd moved away at the end of the school year last last year. My son wasn't able to say goodbye properly or attend his buddy's going away party. The buddy's mom called us early in July and asked if our son could come visit them for a couple weeks in their new home.....in Queens, NYC ????
My son went nuts and was chomping at the bit to go. Buddy's mother is a licensed adolescent psychologist, also. How cool is that? There are no coincidences . She was already well briefed on my son's troubles and had been very helpful in offering outstanding advice all along.
Long story short......he flew up and had a whale of a time. It was a great experience for him and yet again.....I was grateful for such great development.
He sent me a ton of pics and videos from there......but this one really was my favorite. They'd gone to some wax museum.
Yesterday, I was getting home from the gym a little while before he got home from 2nd day of school and trying to get some grub ready for him.
He said something about me looking short....must be the new shoes I was wearing. I turned on him and did my best "puff up the chest and tower overed him".....yeah, right.......it resulted in him looking down and laughing like hell at me.
Took a quick pic......and yes, it's official. I'm the short guy around the house.
Anyway......this short guy is feeling old as hell lately. I mean, I'm enthused to be finding my gym time again.....but the soreness is stoopid crazy this time around.
Friggin arch pain is the worst part of it at the moment.
Gonna take things slow and enjoy easing back into things. I've still got some old injuries that I'm having to be extremely careful to avoid damaging......right wrist and right shoulder being the most concerning.....and then the fact that I seem prone to hernias......3 already repaired surgically. I don't have the time nor do want to incur the expense of any injuries.
Glad to be back. Thanks for reading.
