    Can't do back squat, any substitutions?

    Iv'e heard hack squats are the best substitution, currently iv'e been using the leg press but I think a barbell exercise might be more effective.

    The reason I can't do back squats is because my gym doesn't have a squat rack, and joining another gym is not an option, thankyou.

    do hack squats in lower rep range and leg presses in upper range imo. or the other way around, whatever you prefer.

    by the way, you could clean the weight to front squat position and do front squats

    leg press is great for improving quad strength which is important for raw squatting and conventional deadlift.

    guy at my gym was doing them, as he put the barbell on the ground after his last rep, he somehow managed to forget the barbell was behind him, stepped backward, tripped, fell, and smashed his head onto the squat rack behind him.

    i like leg press because i don't have to be scared of farting at the bottom of the movement like on squats. this **** sucks

    some people mainly tall people, arent built for back squatting and respond better to front squats and more iso work like leg presses.
