This is all fine and dandy for a charity event but in the future I'd like to see all slingshot use confined to the meets with curling contests so no powerlifters unwittingly waste their gas going somewhere they would much rather not be. I hate this so many divisions everyone gets a trophy bullox.
Hi, I'd like to enter the men's sub master modern raw natural sling bench only event but I accidentally checked the men's open traditional untested single ply box. There were so many boxes my eyes fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu...........

I love charity and all...
But at the same time it feels like somebody took my heart and dropped it into a bucket of boiling tears. At the same time somebody else is hitting my soul in the crotch with a frozen sledgehammer. And then a third guy walks in and starts punching me in the grief bone and I'm crying and nobody can hear me because I'm terribly, terribly, terribly, alone.637/390tng/615 - belt/wraps, best gym lifts.

I really don't see what the big deal is. There was a similar contest a few months ago but with the Titan Ram, 325 for reps, after a USPA meet, and I don't even think that was for charity. I don't remember anyone complaining about that.
I can't imagine this becoming a legit contest lift. As long as it doesn't count toward a total or create another division (like raw modern / raw classic did) then it's just another side event like the curl or ohp (not saying I like/dislike those, but they don't affect the powerlifting total since they're done after the meet and/or aren't counted as official contest lifts).
Maybe there could be a max bench or bench press for reps competition by itself or as a side event after a regular meet, but then it'd have to include the Slingshot, Ram, and whatever Metal's version is so there wouldn't be a monopoly. I imagine Inzer would make something similar too. And I don't even see that being viable since there'd be so few people willing to do that after a full meet that it would almost have to be a standalone meet to get enough participants to make it worthwhile (like this Slingshot event).
The only silly thing I could see happening is somebody arguing their Slingshot/Ram/whatever is just an open-back shirt. Maybe not the Slingshot since it covers the elbow.Meet: 440/248/485 = 1173@144 sp
