Yup. And thus the longest meet prep of my life gets even longer... Oh well. On one hand it will give me time to get stronger but on the other that's 2 1/2 months I have to stay under 220. Fuk!

Why does it matter what weight class you are in for the state meet? Who cares if you compete in 242 at a bodyweight of 225 or something. You are going to be competing at 231 at Raw Nationals anyways. Might as well compete at ~231 at the state meet so you know what it feels like. The push back in date and close proximity to Miami means I might turn that into my tune up meet. So we can compete head to head at 220 or 242 if you want. I'm sitting around 223 right now.

E I really want to pop my cherry this year. Was looking at the two March meets. Would it make a difference for me? Orlando is obviously more convenient for me. Also considering waiting till this summer and doing a may or June meet. Depends on baseball schedule

Looks like Robert Keller finally updated state records a couple days ago, so now your name is on there. And I'm assuming some of my girl's records were taken by your girl's records. This isn't over mister.

This was a really tough session but I managed to come out of it with a PR! Squats didn't feel spectacular but as I've proven in the past my repping strength doesn't correlate with my 1RM.Last edited by ErickStevens; 01-09-2013 at 11:22 AM.

Because at the end of the day my Wilks will be better if I keep my weight under control. I want to win my weight class and at least be in contention for best lifter. I'm carrying a lot of holiday slop as well, so I think I could maintain or even lose weight and still get stronger. They aren't using the IPF classes BTW.
I would do the Beau Moore Classic in March. Raw United is holding it, it's in Tampa, and I'll have some team members competing so I can help you out if you need it.
She hasn't competed in the USAPL yet. She'll be competing at the Florida State Open along with me. inb4 800 @ 132

Some days you're just punching the clock you know, but doesn't mean you're not making progress. Bench has come a long way where a paused set of 255 for 4 is just unremarkable.
Must be on similar programs. I had 2 count pause bench, 2 count pause squats, and military on tap today (I've had to go higher frequency because every time I've tried out a more traditional upper/lower split, I'm usually still all tore up from my previous lower body day).New log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=144101461

Bench was feeling pretty average today so I decided to pound the old chesticles with some volume. With a meet this weekend for one of my girls this will be a short training week. We'll see how my recovery goes, if anything I'll just eat more to compensate for the lack of rest."Nutrition for powerlifting: If you are serious about it, you will eat f*cking everything and get strong as $hit." - HamburgerTrain

This was a really tough session. Everything felt pretty heavy so I just tried to get some more volume in. I've decided to stop cycling my calories and just stay at around 3000 for the foreseeable future. I'm hovering around 220-222 so there's no reason I can't maintain on this intake. My low carb days were helping me maintain a lower body weight but were hampering my recovery, so hopefully I will notice an improvement while eating more.
