My trainer told me I need 300 grams of protein a day. I figured around 180g a day was already enough. Height = 6'2 Weight 175 lb. I'm trying to build muscle for mass. Thoughts?
I just want more inputs. I'm a newB just started working out about a month ago.

when in a surplus (bulking) I doubt you need more than 180
Id be curious (ask him) how he came up with 300g?

I don't see why people think it's wrong to eat that much. I'll admit, though, it's not needed. However, if you're cutting, it would be helpful because it's really satiating, and protein has a higher thermic effect than other macros. However, unless you're on dat der, it's not needed.

unless your doing RFL or an insane deficit you dont need that much. if your bulking you will likely have a high ish carb intake so you want need as much protein.
You are not a fragile ornament ready to collapse into an exhausted mass of goo simply because you squatted more than once in a 7-day week.
It'd be like preparing your entire life to bang 100 chicks in a row, getting tan, hitting the gym, making sure your hair looks right and reading the Kama Sutra, only to realize when you get there that you're gay and cannot get hard in the presence of women.

There are instances where that much protein can be recommended to people that are not on steroids:
"Essentially, a high protein intake won’t hurt an athlete (basically everything you may have read about the dangers of high protein intakes is nonsense), [and] it may provide small benefits of importance to elite athletes."

So up he got, and trotted along with his little sword held in front of him and one hand feeling the wall, and his heart all of a patter and a pitter.”
