was just cruising the australian version of calorieking (calorieking.com. au) and there calories and macro values differentiate so much between our american version. for instance looking up 1000grams of raw yam (sweet potato) yields 650 cals and 141 carbs, yet (US version) calorieking.com yields 860 cals and 201 carbs. even raw pumpkin, the australian version says 1000 grams yields 470 cals, 6g fat, 72 carbs and 21 protein, whilst the US version for 1000 grams yields 260 cals, 65 carbs, 1 gram of fat and 10 grams of protein. why so much of a difference, ESPECIALLY IN RELATION TO VEGETABLES??? obviously through looking at the other sites, fitday, livestrong, etc... the US version is more precise.
just a quick question for the australian people out there, do you use your own countries nutritional database for such foods/ veges, or do you use the more common ones as listed- fitday etc....
have always been curious, just wanted to know
cheers
