I thought the same would happen if the stock reached 600 pre-earnings. Now I'm just going to wait and see how the market reacts tomorrow on the open.

I sold my shares in Afterhours to lock in profits after such a big move. Approx. 42/share is huge for a few hours of work. Imagine how many funds and other retailers there are in the same position. This is what occurs the next day after a huge earnings report. The puts will be a fraction of their price, if you get in on the 590 weeklys right in the morning you might be able to get it for a buck. It'll double in a matter of seconds or minutes after the open.

I have no idea, but all I know is that AAPL mania is back on the table. And don't forget QE tomorrow (cross fingers).

Kudos to anyone who bought odd - lot shares in AAPL. There are a lot of people with the incorrect mentality that you shouldn't trade a stock unless you can buy a full 100 share lot. They will miss out on many opportunities.

I can admit when I'm wrong ... they didn't miss. Came in over and it went down just like some of you said it would. Nice call guys! I had no money on this play thank goodness. However my reduced port still rose 2.5% yesterday so I'm no complaining.

With a 615 open I was more confident in puts so I bought some 590s on the open for .90 and got out at 1.75.

This is going to be a gut move. It's actually trading higher now. You have to ask though: Can it maintain a 10% gain all day long?

EDIT: F**k it. I am sitting this one out. I'll wait till the opening tomorrow when the profit takers step in and buy some puts. Or maybe even the end of the day today.

Lol, I think a lot of the hysteria is back but maybe we'll see some profit taking at 620.

I actually got novembers. Since it's a pretty low beta stock, I'll probably just hold till expiration, and just hedge with a lower strike price november put once price looks like it wants to reverse back up (which will probably be tomorrow)

Nice. That does make sense, I'm just trying to learn some of the strategies being used in this thread.
