Career wrestlers seem to do well in the middleweight and lower divisions because they can use there technique to go to the ground. But there have been no successful wrestlers above the light heavyweights. Rashad Evans has a takedown style similar to a wrestler and has had decent success but not dominant. Lesnar was to chicken **** in the fight to try take Overeem down in fear of catching a knee to the skull, especially if he knew he was retiring. I think he didn't want to chance any permanent damage in this fight and played chicken ****.

It definetly did not help him but he is a trained wrestler, not a kickboxer or boxer for that matter. And he has never fought any good heavyweights. Carwin was a similar fighter and Lesnar barely escaped that one. Mir is a crap heavyweight and has never been good. Couture was washed up and outsized.

well that was a fun commercial to watch. dana talked brock into the ring for cash to use his name as a stepping stone for overeem. if you disagree with me, then WHY did brock stay on his feet during the fight? wtf was he thinking trying to exchange blows with overeem??? no bull rush, never lowered his shoulder. i promise you he was never a day before this fight physically able to be old brock.
brahs who paid, we bought a three hour commercial.
young misc'er above comparing it to the WWE, you may be more right than others are willing to admit.
no cred in UFC what-so-ever.
last, the cowboy fight was a joke too. brb, minus almost half a foot in reach and never taking advantage of a knock down once. disgusting.___________________________________________________________

i agree if brock would have taken his time moving up the ranks instead of fighting the top guys almost from the start he might have had more success. i think his stomach problems and surgeries were a huge factor too.
cain looked un stopable in his fight against brock and he was undefeated then looked like a noob against junior dos santos. now everyones gonna be on the overeem band wagon but everyone meets their match and overeem is no exception.

Because he does beat guys like brock every day.. Brock is big yeah but he is not an MMA fighter, he`s an excellent wrestler but that alone will not win you much.. also experience.. Between K1 and MMA Overeem has had nearly 70 fights, Brock has had 7 and lost 2 of those...
