nothing to do with diuretics guys are still using the same things they did in the 90's it's all these 'gurus' that have come along and now nobody can think for themselves anymore, nearly everyone on the olympia stage had a prep coach this year where as in the 90's you had guys knowing how to reach peak condition on there own from experience without relying on some fukhead.

The 1997 Olympia wasn't really a high standard of conditioning and probably the worst of the decade. The 96 on the other hand, lots of guys were shredded, especially the top 6.
@ Davis, every example you listed excluding Phil only came in that conditioned once this year. Some of them even fell off the rader at their show after.
Another point people are forgetting to make is consistency. The guys today hit their peak once or twice a year. Lol at using Levrone, ok sure he came in off at the 97 O, but after that Ronnie himself said he came in shredded to the next 6-7 shows on the grand prix tour.

^This, consistancy is a major factor here. Remember the top tier bodybuilders of that era on average participated in more competitions evidenced by the huge deal that was made of Kai Greene doing the NY Pro this year who previouslly placed 7th at the Olympia. And consistancy is a major part of why Phil Heath has done so well if nothing else he is always one of, if not THE best conditioned bodybuilder on stage. That consistant level of conditioning seperates him from everyone else. Branch Warren is another bodybuilder that simply by coming in great condition seperates him from others in spite of the fact he has many challenges structurally and otherwise.

Kefalionas is shredded at every show, Kai was also peeled in Sheru, Phil has only ever been off ONCE in his pro career, Evan was still conditioned at the AC just not as much as the Flex and Hide is very consistent.
And you are very naive to think that the pros of the 90 were always conditioned at every show.
It's unbelievable how little respect modern pros get.Bench: 215x12 (17/12/2011) PR since torn RC

The problem with your arguement is you're using the best pros and not the overall. Using Phil and Kai doesn't prove anything. Look at this years Olympia, after 6th place the conditioning fell off. With 16th place pros being terrible.
The pros in the 90s were more consistent and thats what people mean when they say the conditioning is better not Dorian>Phil or Jay
