If you are in serious caloric deficit trying to dump a "quick" 30 lbs, you aren't in a position to gain much muscle at the same time, no matter how much protein you eat. Most of us eat around 1 g per lb protein per day.

Muscles and the body in general need rest days to grow new muscle and recover. Doesn't sound like you're getting enough rest. At your weight, you can probably lose up to 2lbs per week for awhile, but eventually that will be too much of a deficit and you'll have to reduce it. Supposedly, newbie weight lifters can gain muscle and lose fat at the same time (in a calorie deficit), but I have doubts that would be possible at a large deficit...but I don't know. At any rate, it sounds like you are in a big hurry, but not in it for the long haul? Transforming the body is not a quick thing.

first, check out this sticky: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...hp?t=121703921 it answers the protein question (1-1.5 g / lbw. abt 1 g / lb, as rowyn said, is good), but more than that, it helps you figure out your deficit. b/c you can eat "clean" and still eat too much (or too little). you say you have very little time but workout 6 days a week, sometimes twice a day? um, ok. anyway, that is too much working out. your body needs rest and recovery, and if you can work out that much, it means you're not working out w/ enough intensity. that's more impt than working out more days a week. so maybe do your 3 days of weight training and then hiit or insanity twice a week. diet is what will help you lose the lbs, and lifting is what will reshape your body and help preserve muscle. what lifting prgm are you doing? assume a fb workout since 3 days a week? impt to do a professional prgm and not make up your own, and lift heavy.
