    Great chest work HS.

LOL, I guess it is great that I live in a rural area. For the most part in our gym we know each other and getting help with something is not an issue at all.

I've never had a problem when asking for a spot, and I usually pick the biggest most pissed off looking dude in the gym to ask because I want to be sure they don't drop the weight lol. I just thought it was cool that he jumped on it, on a lift that's not a safety issue (you can just drop the DB's), without someone asking.

    Just a quick update.

They're going to do a ultrasound of my neck to check the blood flow. The actual pain from the headache has subsided but I still feel some pressure from time to time. It comes and goes and I can't pinpoint the cause. There's a chance it's just a pulled muscle at the base of my head on the left side. I did 15 minutes of LISS cardio last night to see if it got worse and it went well. I'm thinking of trying a really short workout tonight with some weights to see how things hold up. Just a few sets of bench, squats and deadz with warmup weights. I'll either go to the gym or wait until my wife gets home because I don't want to do anything when I'm alone.

Anyway, my appointment for the ultrasound is this Wednesday after work. I really hope it's just a pulled a muscle and I have no idea how I pulled a neck muscle doing squats. The other possibility is it's an exertion headache so I'll focus on breathing on all my reps. Valsalva maneuver is great for max attempts but can trigger exertion headaches.

    More living and learning.

I hope everything is OK GS. Really that sounds a lot like what I had which was just a tiny non-crucial torn ligament at the base of my neck which healed with no treatment other than time off. It would pop up at the weirdest times because I would randomly tense my neck muscles while doing various exercises, even once when I was setting the hook on a big fish. LOL... My doc was an older doc that doesn't do all the testing, he looked at it turned my head a few times and asked me if I lift weights, I said yes and he said he sees it all the time with lifters, said we tense our neck up when straining and it tears a little ligament that manifests pain all over the head for some reason.

Strength is still in the tank, feeling better but damn lack of sleep I think is killing me now. Wife is a night nurse and all her work friends have a get together tonight, she was off last night and she was getting random texts messages "are you awake" all damn night long. I finally asked her to turn the phone off at 12:30 but it was too late I couldn't sleep. fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

Today was going to be a "back day" but I somehow lost a lot of time, can't figure it out, starting to think I may have been abducted by aliens... but then my arse doesn't feel like it's been probed and I don't have a nose bleed so...

OK I've officially spontaneously decided to go ahead and cut now, starting tomorrow. This will be about 8-12 weeks and I'm going to attempt to eat at maintenance and create deficit via cardio/workouts. Wish me luck brahs... Storm this would be a great time for Promera to send me a tub of Con-Cret to keep me from losing my strength.

That's a solid workout HS, I'd love to be able to pull that much.

    -----------------------------------------------------------

I went with my “go heavy or go home” workout!

    Squats- 135x10, 135x10, 135x10
    Deadz- 135x10, 135x10, 135x10

Honestly though, I’m glad I got through this without any further issues.

Well I lied, started EC stack today so this is gonna go a little faster than I'd planned. I'm looking for 185, no idea what BF% I'm at and don't trust the junk tests at the gym. I've got a caliper but I swear my measurements vary by 10% every time so I gave up.

You know I need to take a step back and look at how far I've come, you're right not being happy with 450 on a bad day is ridiculous. I recall my first pull of 405 and how ecstatic I was. Sometimes (well all the time) I want everything to happen too fast and it just doesn't always work that way.

Definitely plan on 6-8 weeks off no matter what man, nothing but cardio because any kind of strain will probably aggravate whatever you have. But keep posting here so our log doesn't get buried!

Alright, new week, new cut, new fuzzy head from lack of calories. I clocked in at 200 lbs on the dot this morning, need to melt 15 lbs of fat and put on 5 lbs of muscle at the same time. Promera got a magic pill for me? Thinking about going with a 5x5 for 8 weeks to attempt to keep my squat numbers from falling as it's probably my most pathetic lift. Any opinions on that?

Well I forgot to email myself the program numbers for the 5x5 so I just defaulted to a random shoulder workout today. Sure felt good, hopefully not too much volume for a calorie deficit.

    Seated DB Shoulder Press
    40x12
    50x10
    70x5
    70x5
    70x5

DB Lateral Raise superset w/DB Shrugs
    25x10 / 100x12
    25x10 / 100x12
    25x10 / 100x12
^my grip was struggling on the shrugs, have not had that problem before...

HS machine was taken so I figured I'd do some standing presses again since it's been a few weeks.
    Standing Military Press
    135x5
    135x5

Hammer Strength Shoulder Press superset w/Machine Shrugs
    140x10 / 230x12
    140x8
    140x8
^ after my first set random dude found the shrug machine unattended and removed my weights and just sat in it for a while LOL. That was my first time I ever used that machine for shrugs but I have to say I really liked it. It's designed for seated shrugs but it has another set of handles on it which I assume are for standing variety which I did, felt like it really hit that trap all the way over.

Yeah the plastic seal was good, the one that's attached to the outer wrapper that you have to pull off to unscrew the lid.

Gonna try to deadlift today but not sure how it'll go. Strained my back a little trying to pry the fender out of the tire on my boy's truck with a pry bar but ended up having to have it towed. I gave this truck to my son because I was proud of him starting his first job. He's 16 and getting his driver's license this week, momma dropped him off for his 2nd day on the job (1st day really, last one was orientation) and then she smashed his truck into a pole while leaving.

    Dammit, wrecked back = confirmed
I'm not looking forward to seeing what this will feel like when it cools off.

    Deadlift
    225x5
    275x5
375x3<--grip was slipping so I re-gripped on that 3rd rep and came up most likely with bad form and felt a nasty pain same spot I had it last night
425x3<--yeah beotch, hurt like hell but I don't care
475xF<--did not even budge off the ground lol

    Hammer Strength High Row
    270x10
270x8<--got lazy on this one fml
    270x10

Back is giving me hell at this point so I figure it's time to do some long overdue bicep curls.

    DB seated incline curls
    30'sX10 + 20'sX5
    30'sX10 + 20'sX5
^Damn those extra 5 forced reps hurt!

Sorry I'm slacking on that review Storm, will try to get it done asap I just don't wanna do a half ass job.

Back was feeling better yesterday (off day) and then just randomly standing around waiting for a copier to reboot it spazzed and I damn near didn't make it back to my desk. Couldn't walk for about an hour. Feels better again today with slight tweaks here and there. I would like to bench today but I'm a bit gunshy about the damn thing spazzing out while under the bar. Maybe I'll use the DB's so I can just drop them if need be, then I can be cool like all the other guys who drop their DB's after every set.
