Thanks. Repped you back also.
Weight before: 218lbs was my highest ever
Lowest weight I reached: 140lbs
Weight now: was 148lbs last time I weight myself and that was a few weeks ago.
Honesty, the first 1.5 years out of 2, I feel like I wasted a lot of time even though I loss a lot of weight and was doing good. It was 100% Cardio, no lifting. 1 hour cardio a day. My diet was okay but nothing special - No soda, french fries, sweets, etc. I gave up all that. But I wish now that I was lifting and eating more protein during that time. I didn't even think of any of that.
The past .5 years I really taken it the next level. My diet is great. Lots of chicken, salads, cottage cheese, fruits, veg, etc. ALl the good stuff. That is what I eat 95% of the time. My workout routine. I workout 5 days a week in the morning(Monday Chest, Tuesday Back, Wednesday Arms, Thursday Legs, Friday Shoulders). I lift for about 40-45min, then get about 15-20min cardio to end the day.

my first post.. my transformation
I've been a silent member of this forum for a while now.. But after stumbling across this thread I decided to share my story. My journey began with a doctors visit in late 2009. Doc gave me the normal spiel, about how being overweight may increase chances of HBP/diabietes. However my blood test showed that my liver function had been affected.. A specialist visit was scheduled.. That scared me.. Everything lead back to the same thing... I needed to lose weight (I was around 280+ at my largest) .. It still took a little prodding by my wife (she sent me a very unflattering pix of me sitting on the bed. I looked horrible.) So February 2010 I started with P90X and a strict diet of no white carbs. I went one whole year no bread/pasta/sweets. 60lbs fell off quick. I relaxed and stopped working out with the intensity.. I guess all the compliments went to my head. Couple that with my mother dying in Dec 2011 and I picked up 30 lbs. Around April 2012 I snapped out of my funk and began to workout again.. The weight came off easier than the first time.. March 2013 I finally hit the 100lb mark. So my thoughts went to what next.. I'm in the best shape of my life.. Sleep apnea all but gone. But I felt I needed another goal to chase. A few of my Instagram followers are competitive bodybuilders and they suggested I do a show or two. So I agreed! I plan to do two shows in Alabama this summer.. Just to say I did it!
Any advice that anyone can offer a newbie I would surely appreciate! I'm a really good listener. And I'll always use the search function before asking a question to the forum.

Like everyone else has said before me, you guys are fantastic motivation. About 6-7 years ago, my friend and I were doing great in the gym and getting the results that we wanted. I was probably in better overall shape than i was in high school as a three sport athelete. Low and behold, we stopped going and in the time since I've ballooned up to my heaviest ever. I had the excuse that life was too busy to put in the effort what with being married and becoming a parent in Oct '13. I was unhappy with myself and reminded of it everytime i looked in the mirror or shopped for clothes. Just recently we decided to get after it again and we have been going hard for the last week. Obviously, no major physical changes as of yet but in just the five days I feel so much better and know that I'm improving myself. I will post back eventually and hopefully can share something to everyone that is as motivational as you all have been to me! Congrats again to everyone and the awesome changes!

Thanks. July 2012 I learned how to count calories and would just go walking every day. August 2012 I started doing starting strength. From July 12 to June 2013 I went from 320 to 228, then from July 13 to end of 2013 I bulked and went from 230 to 250. Plan on cutting now just have to get back used to being consistent. Been pretty much maintaining weight from dec 13 to now

Just stumbled on to this tread, many great transformation. I,myself, am now going through my 2nd transformation after 15 years of health issues which totally destroyed my ability to maintain my fitness. My issues have been resolved by surgery and I am now determined to get back my fitness. At 75 years old,it's not easy but I will never give up.Anyway,I just wanted to post to show all you young guys that it is a rewarding lifestyle,so never give up,you will find that as you age your friends will be falling apart and you will still be enjoying life.
Getting old is not for sissies!!!//Chicks dig me for my senior discount.
